All Aboard - The Destiny 2 Hype Train is about to leave the station!
OK, now I think we can officially get this train rolling. Check out the Destiny 2 teaser with reveal trailer coming THIS THURSDAY!
That is one cool video. Cayde is the best.
I would be so down for a Destiny 2 storyline featuring Cayde!
Poor sweeper bot - so much cleaning to do.
She'll be fine as long as no one steals her broom for a conveyance ...
Looking for Gary!

I pre-ordered the Standard Edition. You never know, it might be a stinker.
REMINDER: Today is THE day of the Destiny 2 reveal stream! Same time as usual of 10:00 AM Pacific.
Yay!
Actually, I'm really aiming for as low a bar as I can. Bungie has disappointed me so many times. Anything above the low bar might make me happy.
In all honesty, I'd like to see a totally different game. I'd really like to see Destiny move toward more RPG elements and let us have meaningful gear and actual character builds. This is what I wanted Destiny to be back when we first learned about Bungie leaving Halo to make this game.
Overall, I'm expecting we'll get more of the same with some new bells and whistles. This isn't really a bad thing, though, so I'll be interested to see what they have been doing all this time.
More of the same but probably better in many ways.
Clans. Boo! Don't like Clans. Might be a necessary evil though.
I couldn't quite see the point of losing your light then getting it back. They didn't show lightless game play. Only guardians with special powers just like always. So you have no light for what, an hour, then back to the same old thing.
Patrolling sounds more interesting.
I'll keep my pre-order, for now.
For people who don't want to join clans, it looks like a robust community of clans is gonna be key to accessing higher level content.
In D1 we didn't have supers etc. when our characters were new, we had to level them up first. Doesn't seem to be any different in D2. They just built it into the storyline.
Glad to hear them admit 50% is not good enough for Raid participation. I've been saying for quite awhile that the barriers to Raids were excluding too many people.
The stream went about as expected for a first reveal. A few tidbits about the new stuff, but still lots of details to be confirmed.
I am a little bummed that so much of the story was already spoiled, but hopefully we'll have a more cohesive campaign experience.
I'll be staying in the dark on purpose; just hope it is not more of the same. I have had enough of more of the same.
Well, at its most basic, it is more of the same - campaign, PvP, strikes, raids. Weekly rituals/resets. Shoot stuff and get loot. But some of the new stuff they showed look pretty interesting IMO.
I'm curious about the change to 4v4 PvP. I'm guessing they're hoping for lower average latencies, and also maybe trying to make it easier to be playing with a team full of friends.
Yeah, that's what I was wondering about too with the 4v4 changes. Does this mean no dedicated servers - at least for console? I'm also hoping we see D2 running at 60 FPS on consoles.
Heard, but not confirmed: 30fps on console, p2p servers
If you didn't have a chance to watch the stream, here's a summary (SPOILER ALERT):

Also seeing discussions about 30 fps and peer to peer servers. Sorry to see peer to peer continuing. Hopefully the console graphics will be updated for the Scorpio. Apparently the PC version will have potentially the best graphics.
I think the consensus from the engineers is that, performance-wise, it's far from clear that servers are a good idea. Assuming this is right, you can't blame them for not wanting to pay ongoing costs for servers. I suppose there might still be advantages to a server in terms of cheat detection, but I'm not a hardcore enough PvPer to care too much.
Watched half of the recorded stream late last night. Did they provide any specifics on how to get the raid participation above 50%?
Bungie has basically built LFG functionality directly into the game, like players have been requesting for the last 3 years.
From NEOGAF:
Enough details have started to come out that we can actually have a summary thread of what was announced. First off, if you don't feel like reading, here's a short selection of videos about everything new:
Console Information:
PC Information:
General Information:
PvE Information:
PvP Information:
If there was anything I missed you felt should be included, let me know. I'll get more screenshots in a moment, but I don't want the tab to reload on me since these things are kind of large.
Thanks. Good consolidation of info.
Thanks for posting Achy. Lots of good information.
One of the biggest changes, to me, discussed above is how they are approaching the weapon classes and the ammo economy. Sounds like some very interesting changes. I am a little bit surprised at them moving shottys, fusions, and snipers into the "power" weapon categories but I can see where they are going with these ideas.
I'm fine with Sunsinger - seemingly - going away with no more Fireborn. I felt like that ability was too much of a liability and frankly broke a lot of experiences. I am surprised at them removing the bubble bro - at least this is how it seems. Perhaps they are wanting to have more variety with subclasses instead of having one be "the best" for most situations.
Interesting stuff for sure, but lots of positive changes.
Does the Tiny Dance. ;)
