Thanks guys, just done about 100 laps in 458 italia, SEAT STCC, and the damn BMW 135, (YUK), starting to get a feel for the wheel, including changing with clutch, still a bit hit and miss on change down, but up is perfect, its some much better for holding lines around corners and the feel you get when understeer kicks in really lets you know what the front end is doing, turning th FF down to 50 has helped alot, will gradually increase it as I get more used to it, one thing I will need to change I think is the settings for the brakes, in BMW135 I barely have to touch them, literally rest my foot on the brake pedal and it locks up, any ideas on the best setting to have brake throttle etc on MS wheel currently I have
Steering: 0 - 95
Throttle: 0 - 95
Brake 5 - 95
clutch: 15 - 90 ( not sure if this is relavent with button clutch)

Your settings are fine
Ref MS Wheek brakes, they work on pedal distance travel, rather than the pressure on the Fanatec's. When I had my MS Wheel I put a squash ball under the base of the pedal to provide more resistance. It's really hard to modulate pedal travel on the MS wheel as it's so soft. The squash ball or pieces of foam help provide that additional pressure.
For looking left/right, use Wheel Layout 4 - that makes the X/B buttons work for those cameras. Switch handbrake/clutch so the A button becomes the clutch.
LOL that Beemer is horrible isn't it. But I'm sure you are like me in as much as it is what I love/hate about racing here. It sometimes forces you to get to grips with cars we would have avoided playing career mode...that will make us better drivers...but it is a steep mountain to climb. Not sure about your wheel settings...if the brake is fine with one car, it should be fine with all. I have found with mine it is necessary to pump the pedals once or twice before starting a race to ensure they work to full travel. If I don't I sometimes get brake lock on the lightest touch.
Could I please have the seed times and preferred running time from the last few drivers please. Also as we have a shortage of Pro's and the total absence of the one driver that objected to handicaps, would the few faster drivers we have object to taking a horsepower hit to bring their lap times closer to the novices? Si? it looks so far like the 22:00 time is not going to be the one :-(
@knight - no worries if you have to run this earlier, I appreciate my nocturnal habits may not suit everyone.... If you end up running it at 9 pm I may still be able to make some of the races if you don't mind me being in the series on a race by race basis?
@emezmer - get the car and download the tune from PTR Paparazzi's storefront for Maple valley short reverse, go hot lapping with it in 5 lap sessions, save the session you get your best lap in and put it on your storefront. You can then enter your time in the spreadsheet in knights first post of this thread. At least I thinks that's what I did!

Okay mate 21:00 it is, rather have you in for some of the racers than none...
@emezmer, Si is spot on, the car is the Fairlady Z 432, All the tracks being used have a Pap tune so download them all (and don't forget to rate them)
BTW, holy crap swhite is fast! I think we have an alien in our midst
Yes mate, he has snuck in and disguised himself as a Newb LOL Church is no slouch either...and Fitzy can get round at a fair rate of knots as well...but don't tell them I told you
A fun night, and despite Tourn's insistence it is better to teach one at a time, it is amazing what you pick up as he is talking to other drivers. So thanks Tourni, by the time you got to me I was pushing like mad which is why I was silent LOL. The value to us all is immense and shows in the time we find by the end. I managed an epic overtake on that last race by trusting the car would rotate under throttle, and low and behold it did, leaving the car behind spinning out without a touch from me...hugely satisfying
Thanks for running this event Knight. I was having a problem with massive echo and reverb going on with the lobby, but still enjoyed getting out there with you guys.
Also after pretty much everyone buggered out after you left, Tourni, Chosen and I ran a few races and had a pretty good time doing that as well.
All in all I'd say that your goal of helping out the novices and the new guys was met...Cheers
Thanks mate, it's a bit of a passion of mine. It is so easy to be intimidated by the aliens when you first come here, so a place to practice with other less intimidating folk is helpful. When folk like tourni and cotter drop by it makes it ten times better.
Glad to help as always Knight. I certainly saw an improvement in the throttle control from everyone.
Two important things to remember here guys is
1) Use the track, if there is tarmac there then use it to make the corner a little easier. Outside, just after apex, Outside. Get the corner entry sorted before you think about the power :) Tiny lifts on throttle can make a hugh difference also and how agressive you are with it.
2) Throttle control, dont be scared of learning the car under throttle. Give it some out of a corner, if it spins then it was too much. Give it a bit less next time. You will find a balance where you can apply the throttle and use that to steer the car. It really is where we make up alot of time.

Nice driving by all :)
Cheers Tourni
Tiny lifts I have definitely noticed make all the difference between running wide and kissing the apex. Throttle is slowly coming but that is going to take time. But it's all good, I have other targets before I get around to you aliens
I'd also like to say a big thank you to both Knight and Tourni, I am getting there slowly, I need to be a bit more gentle with the throttle comeing out of corners tend to stamp down on it, dont know why, I dont drive my road car like that, I nwill defo need to learn throttle control if I'm going to drive the V8 supercars in endurance, getting used to the wheel and pedal set up is certainly more difficult than I would have anticipated, but its so much more fun and imersive than the controller.
Sorry I ducked out so quickly after Knight left, but my wife needed me to help her, as I am her full time carer she cannot manage some things without me, and I missed the EUSL quali, will try harder to make it next week, but RL gets in the way sometimes.
Track this week is Iberian full reverse. Not a track I know well so should be interesting. Watch out for that first corner, I dont want to see pile ups there during racing.
I see both Tourni and Pap have top time with ghosts to follow so have a look at those, ignore mine it was done with a controller and a couple of assists.

One thing I've noticed lately while hotlapping: Even though there is no option to "Race Ghost" when a replay isn't saved, if you highlight a driver and select "Launch Race" you will still race his ghost. I can't guarantee this works in all cases, but I have yet to see it fail.
Heh both Tourni and Pap set their times with pads so if you beat them we'll talk LOL I am rubbish with a pad now and only use it when I cannot set up the rig...actually I was always rubbish with a pad, only since I came here and got my wheel and started learning how to do it right have I become a half decent driver. Ironic that I have learned most so far from pad users

Only Tourni's a controller user. I'm a wheel man. We both use the same tune though so the argument of modifying tunes for controller or wheel is all a bit rubbish to me.
If I beat Pap it's because of something he did, not what I did...
I hear yer, well got the rig up this afternoon and now have a genuine time up with no assist 1:03:168...tried to follow Tourni's ghost but lose him on the first corner every time...that is a tough one to get right and I haven't managed it yet. Not sure which tune to run either as there is two, so if Pap drops by maybe we can clear that up.
Anyhoo room will be open shortly before eight and I look forward to seeing the new folk on track. Now for dinner!
Heh one of those weeks where it was just three of us for forty minutes and then some guests dropped by and some real fun racing ensued. So much fun I over ran by an hour...minus several brownie points LOL. This track is going to be a gas when we run it in the series. It makes for close racing where one mistake will lose you a place or even two. Also damn hard to overtake so with a reverse grid...well it's gonna be fun.
Hi Shadders i done the same was using pad and now wheel it takes a bit
to get used to but it's more fun and like u I can no longer see left and right
will have to map the buttons sum how but stick at it this is what Knights sat meet
is all about to help us slower guys I'm 1-4 secs slower as well but I'm enjoying it

Knight, what do I need to do to get you a seed time?

Thanks swhite! I'm failing to see the spreadsheet that you were talking about though. Just a link to the "other" thread anouncing these sessions.
I'll try to get working on that seeding session here in a few minutes.
LOL That's because this isn't the series thread
Here is the link to the sign up page https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjgAw58sWcX9dGtJQU5HVTJ1dFNzdE45eXJScEYyN2c#gid=0
Ok, replay is up and spreadsheet is updated.

I will get my seed time up tomorrow fella. Justt been super busy this week
No worries mate, I know things must be a little crazy
