I had that happen to a few dogs over the years. Pulling them out of the throat and mouth are the worst. You have to have 2 people there to pull the quills. One person has to hold the dog while the other pulls them out...
Most of the time it will never happen to the same dog again, sometimes you get a dumb one though.
