My girlfriend is always uber-creative with the presents that she chooses to give me. Today, Valentine's Day 2010, was no exception. Check out the killer card and hilarious gift that was awaiting upon starting my day today. It should be noted, that we have had a ongoing Chicken-related inside joke between us for most of the five years that we have been together. Not sure how this started, but we have been known to spontaneously break out in loud chicken noises in public for no apparent reason. Always good for strange looks and laughs.

Today we are celebrating Chinese New Year with our annual gathering of friends. This is the year of the Tiger, so if you were 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, or 1998, then this is your year and you should expect it to be a good one based on Chinese Astrology. We gather all of our local friends and put out enough food to feed Beijing. This year I will be making short ribs, flaming duck, sticky rice and my girl will add scallion dumplings, spicy tofu and Chinese Hot Pot (think fondue, but with better ingredients) to the mix.

So today, with the help of my two friends, VideoDan and Joey, I was able to snag one of my personal Holy Grails when it comes to coin-op arcade video cabs, Donkey Kong. This machine went on sale in the town next to mine on Friday via CL. I was lucky enough to get the first email into the seller and went by on Friday to check it out and put a downpayment on the machine. Today, we picked it up and brought it back home.
