I am thinking about getting a core.
I asked myself, is it worth the extra $180 to get an elite?  So far, after talking with a coworker, I think the answer is no.

I have narrowed it down to the fact that games that are more intensive on the system cause it to fail.  The funny thing is on many of the games it freezes right away in the menu.  Guitar hero 2 I can go about 6 songs before it freezes.

I saw a post on the forum to determine the error code of the problem.  I will see if I can find out exactly what is wrong.  Since it is out of warranty I might try to fix it myself if it is something easy to fix.  I will still get the elite as I am no longer going to trust this box.  If I do get it working I am thinking of giving it to a friend.

I had the red lights happen tonight.  So I decided to try the towel trick.  That seemed like it might have worked.  But then later the 360 froze and I got the red lights again.

So I guess I will wait until the elite comes out.  Wonder if I could sell this on ebay.  I know hackers have tricks to revive systems.

I know it's been said many times by many people, now it is my turn.  You guys are awesome.

I think I got an invite from each clan that will be involved in the R6 Turf Wars.  Thank you very much.  But I can't choose sides, I like playing with all of you.

I am going to hook up the guts sometime and find out how well it is working.  The guy said everything works.  There is some burn in on the monitor but nothing too bad.  Everything is pretty clean too.
