Got my Arch Rivals

I am going to hook up the guts sometime and find out how well it is working.  The guy said everything works.  There is some burn in on the monitor but nothing too bad.  Everything is pretty clean too.

I have an Arch Rivals arcade on the way.

Well, not the full arcade. On BYOAC's forum a guy said he was thinking about selling his Arch Rivals machine or maming it. I hate maming a good condition working cabinet. But it's his choice. He decided to mame it. Since he doesn't live far from me I am getting the guts.

DS homebrew on hold :(

My dsx died.  Since I didn't get it from a retailer it needs to be sent to Cyprus.  Shipping wasn't that bad, $11 including padded envelope.

I did get the NDS motion card.  It is quality made.  It even came in nice packaging.  You can see a pic of it at ndsmotion.com.  i am thinking of selling my dsx once I get the replacement.  It's not due to it not working.  The issue with that was one of their vendors made a revision and didn't give them full details of the change.  They allowed the revision because with the information they were given it should have worked fine.

Game system pet peves

Button names and colors.  Sony got it right, don't use letters or colors.  Well, they use colors but most people know the buttons by the shapes.
I mainly blame Microsoft for going against the grain.  Their letters are opposite of Nintendo (swap the A/B and X/Y) and their colors are opposite of the dreamcast.  I sometimes confuse colors because I have the Dreamcast controls engrained in me.  I sometimes mess up the A button on the 360 because of the DS and Super Nintendo.

New DS project

While waiting for graphics on my main project I am fooling around with another idea so I can learn more about DS programming. I am going to get a motion detection unit for the DS at ndsmotion.com. I think a labyrinth game would be awesome. You know those wooden labyrinths, right? Well, here's what one night of playing with PAlib created.
