Goodbye HD - Hello New A/C

Over the years, life throws us all a few curves, a few sinkers, and a slider here and there. Life happens. Still, sometimes, it really sucks.

While on vacation last week, my wife asked me if I wanted to convert the spare room into my gameroom and office, complete with a new HD TV. I've never had one. I'm glad she was driving, or I would have driven off the road.

Canine Observation

I just finished walking my daughter's schnauzer and my black lab. Being the observer I am, I made a startling discovery! Male dogs don't all poop the same way.

My lab does the quadraped squat, and the schnauzer does a tripod non-squat! (In addition, my lab always faces away from me so I "can't see him", I guess. The schnauzer is not as modest.)

It's a Done Deal

The wedding is over. All the drama and emotion didn't end until after the reception. Let me preface this by saying it was a beautiful wedding, and the main objective went off without a hitch (pun intended). First of all, it poured down rain - bucketloads. Then the route described and mapped out for the groom's relatives from Colorado? A train breaks down, stalls, whatever, across the road to the church. Not being from the area, they were guided in by cell phone. The wedding was scheduled for 6:00; it started at 6:45.

Dear Lord, Why Didn't They Elope?

I sit here this afternoon making every effort to do the man's job in preparation for a wedding - Shut up and stay out of the way! It started several weeks ago and has intensified as the days have passed. Yesterday I had 500 pink roses in my kitchen, five insane women, and a fallout between my two step-daughters. It appears one became a bit bossy, and the other one called her a name I don't think I have ever heard come out of her mouth.

Busy Week . . .

Weird. Since I've been on vacation, I haven't had time to write very much. The youngest daughter is getting married this weekend. I don't know who has been thrown out of the house the most - me or the dog. I think I might just move in with him til this blows over. The inlaws and outlaws are all headed this way, which is not a bad thing. I went out Sunday afternoon and bought what amounts to a western cut tux jacket, a white tux style shirt, a "Wild, Wild, West" type of tie, a pair of Wrangler boot cut blue jeans that I'm going to send to the cleaners to be starched and pressed. . .
