With less than 3 weeks until Halo 3 (and CoD4 soon after), I feel obligated to finish a few games quickly or I know I'll never get to them.  Bioshock shouldn't be a problem to blast through.  I promised my son we would work on Zelda: Windwaker at least 30 minutes a day until we finish it.  And, Marvel Ultimate Alliance has been languishing on my game shelf for quite a while.  I think I'm only a couple of hours away from finishing that.  The problem with MUA is that I'm just not finding it as fun as the X-Men games, and it has the most reading of any game next to Super Paper Mario, which my

Who the hell unleashed the plague of mosquitoes?  Is it as bad everywhere as it is up here in Wiscosin?  These fuckers are as big as sparrows.  I walked outside my house for all of about 30 seconds and I have a dozen bites on my arms, neck and face.  I haven't even seen a mosquito all summer and now it's like something out of The Old Testament.

Today is the first day of school in this neck of the woods.  My once solitary 6am run is no longer so solitary.  The neighborhood is now bustling with activity as parents get their kids outside to get on their school busses.

The first day of school hits me with a mixture of emotions.  On the one hand, I'm filled with pride as my children continue to grow.  On the other hand, it reminds me that they're just going to keep getting older and that one day, the first day of school will mean them moving out of the nest.

Last night, I came down with a wicked head cold -- basically all the NyQuil symptoms, so I'm not feeling real chatty today.  I'll continue my underwater drawing theme with this seahorse.  My inspiration was the seahorses in The Little Mermaid who used their mouths as trumpets.

I'm kinda bumming that I haven't gotten a CoD4 beta token yet.  Oh well, there's still Bioshock.  I put in about 4 hours on Bioshock last night and can't believe where the time went.  That is one helluva game.

Switching off the dinosaur theme, my drawings for the next handful of days will be underwater related.  I think if I keep practicing on this shark, I might come up with a variation that would make for a good tattoo.

Today has been going pretty good so far.  My son and I went to the sports card shop and he bought a pack of 1991 Upper Deck football cards for $1.  It contained a Brett Favre rookie card.  Then we get home, and in the mailbox is a check from Microsoft to me for $139 reimbursing me for my repair earlier this year.  I wasn't expecting this since the out of warranty repair I had done was due to the drive not reading discs, rather than the 3 red lights.
