This afternoon Cooper Power called me.  I had hoped it would be an offer, but it was instead to tell me that they really liked me but didn't have something concrete for me until after the holidays.  The HR woman then asked if I was interviewing anywhere else and I told her that I had interviews with 4 people at GE yesterday.  She wanted to know if they had made an offer yet or if I expected them to make an offer before the end of next week.  She made some comment about "trying really hard to pull things together, but it's tough tracking down all the right people during the holidays".

I think I managed to fall asleep around 5:30am this morning after my bout of insomnia.  I got up at 7am and took an Adderall to wake my ass up and sustain me through interviews this morning.

Later this morning, I have 4 interviews for a job at GE Healthcare.  Granted, it's a different division of GE than the one that laid me off, but I still find a bit of irony in all of this.  I'd love it if Cooper Power would come through with an offer for me this week.

So yesterday, I was to have my interviews for the Quality Leader role at Cooper Power. The problem was that I was up a good chunk of Wednesday night with my daughter who has tonsilitis and the flu. Midway through my fourth interview yesterday, I start getting a really bad headache. I'm cold, but I'm sweating. And nausea is starting to kick in.

By the time the Director of HR comes in for my 5th interview, I'm ready to puke. She can tell I'm not doing well. I ask if I can go to the bathroom and splash some water on my face and when I get there, I am as pale as a sheet.

A lot of you read my blogs about losing my job a couple of months ago.  That's been pretty hard on me.  (Check it out, Beavis -- he said, "hard on").  A situation has developed very rapidly over the last week that feels like the guiding hand of fate is involved.

I can't think of when there has been a better time to be a gamer (especially a 360 gamer) than these last couple of months.  Halo 3 was a nice warm-up, but I can't remember having so much fun gaming as I do with CoD4, Mass Effect, and Rock Band.  Mario Galaxy is also the cat's ass.

Frankly, I am very happy that GTA 4 pushed to next year.
