A lot of you here know Billbofet, especially his AoW homies. Yesterday afternoon, he and Mrs. Billbofet gave birth to a bouncing baby Hobbit/Mandalorian. Her name is Samantha and was 5 lbs 12 oz, I believe, and 19 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great. Billbo was very excited. This is their first baby and I don't think it has sunk in to him yet how much this is going to impact his gaming time.
Lucky for him his 4th 360 just died last week.
Feel free to shoot him off a PM or XBL message congratulating him!

This happens without fail -- every time there is a bunch of games I need to pick up, Best Buy sends out their Reward Zone coupons for 10% off video games for use the weekend before. So, next week we have CoD4, Lego Star Wars (for the kids, I promise) and Scene It! Naturally, the coupon is good only until 11/5.
Toys R Us always seems to time their "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" sales right before good games come out.
I understand the business logic behind it, but as a customer, it irritates the hell out of me.

I'm trying to pound through Half Life 2 so that I can trade it in toward Call of Duty 4 next week (or maybe I'll sell it on eBay). Honestly, I'm not having a lot of fun with it. I enjoyed Portal a lot. I played a little of Team Fortress 2 with the AoW gus, who by the way were very cool and quite patient with my total newbie-ness. But I see that game having a learning curve that I'm just not up to, given the release of CoD4 next week.

I just did some MASSIVE house cleaning of my Live friends list -- 96 people down to 28. I imagine that there will be some hurt feelings, especially within my clan, but I felt that my FL had gotten out of hand. Whenever I'd go to play a game, I was just getting constant notifications that "<gamertag> is online". Also, it gets hard being spammed with invites all the time. Sure, I know I can turn notifications off, but there have been times I've forgotten about turning them off and I've missed invites that I wanted.

Yesterday was the last official day of classes at Right Management. The class was about interviewing and salary negotiations. Even though I technically have the day off, I need to organize the loads of hand-outs we received over the two weeks. Then I need to complete all of the outside assignments we were given, including finishing the 20 hour career self-assessment. Lastly, I need to sit down with the list of about a hundred behavioral interview questions ("Tell me about a time when...") and come up with responses to each of those.
