Has there ever been a better time?

I can't think of when there has been a better time to be a gamer (especially a 360 gamer) than these last couple of months.  Halo 3 was a nice warm-up, but I can't remember having so much fun gaming as I do with CoD4, Mass Effect, and Rock Band.  Mario Galaxy is also the cat's ass.

Frankly, I am very happy that GTA 4 pushed to next year.

Messed up

After my little "heart attack" scare on Monday, I figured I should get back to working out.  During Wednesday morning's workout, I tweaked my back.  Maybe "tweaked" is too gentle a word.  How about "blew out"?

Applying for jobs online sux

Holy crap.  Applying online for jobs is not fun at all.  I have applied for three different jobs today, and for each of them, the process took close to an hour.

For starters, every one of these site has you upload your resume so that it can auto-populate a bunch of stuff for you.  The problem is that it butchers and mangles everything beyond recognition.  You damn near need to re-type everything.

Not a heart attack

I went to the doctor this morning and had an EKG.  Turns out that while my blood pressure is high enough to warrant medication, at least what I had last night was not a heart attack.  The doc suggested that it was probably a panic attack (Doscon wins a prize).

I also told him about my insomnia and dramatic mood swings and he said "you don't need a pill, you need a job."

Heart Attack?

Last night, about 2am, I awoke with a stabbing chest pain below my left pec and  I was in a cold sweat.  My wife, who is a nurse, took my pulse and it was racing.  She took my blood pressure and it was high (140/100).  If I hadn't already had a doctor's appointment scheduled for this morning at 9am, I think I would have dialed 911.

My wife quizzed me about other symtoms typical to a heart attack, but I wasn't short of breath, didn't have any numbness down my arm, didn't feel dizzy, and didn't have any other body aches.  Still, it scared the shit out of me.

+1 for creativity, -1 for being a douchebag

I went out to get my mail this afternoon and found that someone had emptied a can of peaches into my mailbox.  The mailman was good enough to put a rubber band around my mail with a shitty catalog on the outside, shielding the letters and bills from the peaches/juice.  I guess compared to some of the idiotic stuff I did as a teenager, peaches in the mailbox is pretty benign.
