I went out to get my mail this afternoon and found that someone had emptied a can of peaches into my mailbox.  The mailman was good enough to put a rubber band around my mail with a shitty catalog on the outside, shielding the letters and bills from the peaches/juice.  I guess compared to some of the idiotic stuff I did as a teenager, peaches in the mailbox is pretty benign.

I'm starting to see signs of interest out in the job market for me.  I've been purposefully slow in putting my resume out in the public domain, but now recruiters are starting to pounce on me.  One recruiter called me today, based on a job I had applied for, and told me that I'm setting my sights way too low and that I'm worth $25K-$50K more than the job I had applied for (and that he was representing).

For those of you who have gotten to the Death from Above mission in CoD4 -- OMFG!  I consider this to be one of the coolest gaming moments ever.

That's what The Orange Box and Halo 3 are saying right now.  And by "cruel world", they mean DarthClem's game collection.

After playing CoD4 all day, both SP and MP, I just can't see myself going back to either of those other games.  Is CoD4 perfect? No.  If it had co-op campaign play and ability to capture in game movies like Halo 3, I think then it would pretty much be perfect.  But as it stands, it's close enough to perfect that it's time to say good-bye to The Orange Box and Halo 3.

I just got my first formal rejection in my job hunt today.  The email from the guy at Rockwell was short and not-so-sweet:  "No interest here.  Apologies."  In my job search, I've had a couple of dead ends, but this was the first time a company with my resume actually said "No".

Even though I wasn't particularly passionate about working for Rockwell, it still stings.  I haven't had a job rejection since my first job out of college.  Any job I've applied for in the last 15 years, I've gotten.
