Quick review: Fanboys

Fanboys is probably more well-known for its development history than for the movie itself. That's not to say it's very well-known - in fact, it's kind of surprising that it slipped under the radar in mainstream cinema.

Crazy? Or just an ol' bigot?

Yesterday on my way home from work I had to stop by the local Walmart to pick up a few items for the house. One of the unique aspects of Walmart is its representation of the entire community in which it resides - it's not uncommon for a 2008 Mercedes Benz to be parked next to a rusty 1989 Chevy minivan, both owners in the store purchasing the same item. It makes for some fun people-watching.

(jail)Broke my Phone

I have had an iPhone for a little over a year now and I love it. I don't even care about the Apple logo or the touchscreen; for me, the functionality of it far surpasses any other handheld device I've ever had my hands on. And like most Americans, I wanted Bigger and Better!

Name My Company!

Seriously, help me name my company. I've been struggling with this for a week now.

I spend a considerable amount of time tooling around with video and audio production. I have a bachelors degree in broadcasting but this has been just a hobby for me. Last summer I put together a promotional video for a very small company in Connecticut. At the owner's request I created and packaged 100 copies which made their way around fast. Immediately I got a call from somebody else who needed quick and cheap audio work done, and this immediately picked up momentum.

Dammit, Dixon Tufar....

.....you made me return to my Google Ninja ways.

In case you're new to 2old2play, Dixon_Tufar is quite active on just about all the message boards here. And something about him has been bugging the eff out of me for months now.

The avatar. What the hell is it from? And why do I still giggle inside EVERY time I see it? I thought of asking him but that would have been the easy way. So I did some peeking around with the power of Google at my fingertips and found.......... this. Strange as all hell but still absolutely worth watching.

April Fools

Quick one today.....

Google has a note about a scientific breakthrough called CADIE, a high-tech buzzword packed artificial intelligence system that just went live, and will vastly enhance the effectiveness of Google. Call me paranoid but before the end of the day I have a feeling CADIE is going to become self-aware in the style of Skynet, HAL, or Agent Smith.
