Columbine III

I've had to do quite a bit of public speaking and presentations on workplace violence lately, and I've been working more and more with colleges and universities regarding clinical placement of students in hospitals as part of a nursing program. More and more in the last year the topics of Columbine and Virginia Tech have come up. As a result I've had to educate myself quite a bit on those two events, particularly the warning signs and speculated motives of the killers.

One MILLION Dollars!

Gas prices. Food costs. Unemployment rates. Consumer confidence, and confidence in the direction that the USA is headed. There are a few people out there who feel that we are headed toward a deep recession. President Bush is pushing for offshore drilling and reducing our dependence on foreign oil, and it's all happening just a few months after tax rebates and other economic stimulus measures.

Customer Service Suc.....oh, wait.

There seem to be two common themes in the blogs and forums here (besides video games) - cell phone companies and bad customer service. The two seem to go hand in hand. I've been involved in customer service discussions at work and the wireless companies' call centers frequently come into the discussion as an example of the way not to do things.

Get the f*** out this country-ass f***ing town

I heard this (although a heavily bleeped version) on the radio this morning and had to hunt down the original, uncensored video. I'd lead into it but honestly, just watch the video and laugh. And if you are looking for a job in TV, I'm sure this reporter's position is now open.

Wrong number, bitch tits.

In this digital age my wife is trying to find more and more surefire ways of getting a hold of me. I have a cell phone but AT&T sucks at my house. I have an internet phone number through Yahoo however Yahoo Messenger can get kind of flaky at times. My wife has US Cellular, which works well at our house, so this weekend she decided to pick me up a second cell phone and add it to a family plan. I already have an iPhone so I don't need anything special, just the basic "free with 2-year contract" phone.
