I would say no cautions unless it's completely controlled by the computer and it can distinguish what type of safety is being called exp. full course caution with safety car or yellow no passing in the sector which I doubt ps3 is capable with ?
the other reason I say no....and no offence to anyone... I've seen it happen in the pass, some people can get worked up over an incident take a rub or bump as a deliberate hit and with very few using headsets it could just cause a lot of confusion if a call is botched leading to pissed off driver dropping out. It's hard enough focusing on racing, let alone being a marshal at the same time ;)
i am tho up for flags and penalties if they work properly :)
Stevie, thinking back to that race at Bathurst, it was an amazing start with absolutely no incidents the whole way up and down the mountain on lap 1. I'd have to go back and watch the replay again just to confirm that but I would swear that there were none. This is the type of racing I've looked forward to. The biggest reason for the way the start went was - QUALIFYING.
Grim is awesome and created a sign up sheet. I have posted a link to it at the beginning of the OP. Also, I have made some small changes to the Race Settings in re: to weather conditions. If you've set up your own lobby to see how the weather is you may want to take a peak again and try the new settings. I will be on at various times today and tomorrow running a lobby with the settings update. Feel free to jump in and try it out. Folks can come and go as they please. It would be a good idea for the guys that couldn't get in the Bathurst lobby last week to try again if they see I'm on. I've got my fingers crossed that the system update I did will resolve this.
Also, I changed my car color to Liquid Yellow and updated the sign up sheet. Thanks guys...see you on the track.
Snappy - Are we not allowed to use intermediate wet tyres?
Great question! Yes, you are allowed to use intermediate rain tires. I'll update the OP.
I ran in a lobby and the rain is strange...the little icon on the upper left was reading 0% but it was raining off and on. I never changed tires but my times did fluctuate as much as 4-5 seconds. When I wasn't making mistakes.

If you set the surface water at race start = 30% that icon should be at 30 when the race starts...and should rise as it rains but should definitely start at 30.

Thats the ting about my session. I had surface water set to 30% and it actually stopped raining then the track dried out. The, it started to rain again but it didn't go back up. Weird. Let me know how your session goes, Grim.

I think the issue is that you have the weather changing too often. During a single lap, it would ran, stop and then rain again and as fast as the track dies, it doesn't rain hard or long enough to get the track surface wet.
Also, at 2.07 seconds a lap, with a pit stop the race will last around 50 mins or so based on 24 laps

Anyone know or have a guestimate of how many laps before before a gas stop is needed? Also do gas and tires usually fade at the same time? No problem if nobody wants to divulge any secrets.....I usually just wing it anyway and hope for the best!

Think I got to around lap13-14 before I really needed fuel. The tyres will last the hole race not sure if there is a way to not change tyres and just take fuel.

As the fuel and tyres are done at the same time it doesnt really matter as the tyre change is normally done a lot faster that the fuel refill.

StevieG...Have you ever tried to just get fuel...Wondering if a pit stop is a set amount of time?...Was wondering because I think if you shorten the gas amount it will shorten the time..Maybe keeping the tires you have will shorten it too?

Almost positive you cant leave the same tires on during a pit but just like real life the tires change occurs much quicker than the gas and on this particular track the gas needed for a one stop strategy (the only realistic strategy forego some mid race hurricane) will definitely take longer than it does to change your tires so a moot point for this particular race.
But the more gas you do take on the longer your pit stop does take...I'd guess a second easily for every extra 10 liters maybe even more???

Like parcels says you have to change tyres there's no option not to :)
We would have to do more laps to really mix it up a bit maybe you start on soft for a shorter first stint then hards for middle stint then softs for final stint. Or make it you have to use 2 compounds in a race like F1 :). So many options for future series
I have made some changes to my tune to stiffen it up a bit for this weekends race at Monza.
I do not claim to be a great tuner so use the tune at your own risk. However, it does work well for my driving style.

3G's...First I Like Your Tune...Was able to knock of a half of second with it...Question...When you say lobby times do you mean the online lobby and not the test tracks out of the garage??...If so how does that equate to the times testing out of the garage? I believe you have said the online lobby times are slower....How much slower?
P.(arcell)S. Snappy...Always had a soft spot for the Chromatics...Back to Gold Chrome next week!

Yes it means testing in the online lobby. Depending on the track, anywhere from1-2 seconds slower online for me. It may jut be me but I would rather do the final test in race conditions in the online lobby. Glad you liked the tune. Just dont beat me with it!

Wheels - I plan to run a full stint later this afternoon. Just been too busy with other stuff.
Hey Snappy, I was going to do a quick test session and I dont think Monza allows for time progression.
Correct Grim. There is no time progression at Monza. My apologies. I have updated the OP.
Also the fuel useage is very very much dependten on how you drive.
Last night 3 of us where in the same car on that massive oval track and we all ran out of fuel at diffrent stages.
I ran out of fuel about 2 mile before grim and stevie and asstrak about 9 miles before (Although he did have a slight diffrent setup on his car)

Yes
Improve ridgity as well ?
