Cheers

I would suggest "Restore Rigidity", its more expensive but might be worth it.

Grim & Brnt, I serviced my car after the race today and noticed that it had taken a hit in Body Rigidity. Had to restore it. My Roadster has got over a thousand miles on it. LOL Maybe I'll pick up a couple tents with the repairs.

No problem. Sounds like a good combo.

Great racing guys! That wet weather was brutal. When we ran a 10 lapper the other day with the same settings the rain actually stopped. I guess the game randomized weather to the point that it is different every race. That was crazy!

Thanks again, guys. Next race will be dry.

Also, I'll be posting up two builds real soon for a race during the off week. Check back soon for those builds.

Thanks Wheels.  I actually learned something from Brnt the other day in practice as he turned a 2:5.08.  Although I hurts the gas milage, shifting to 4th and 5th gear a bit past the readline (around 8500) allows the next gear to land in the power band a bit more.  Like I said, it hurts the gas milage (really bad last week at bathhurst) but it helps with acceleration

That was my PB.  Picked the right time to get it!

Great race guys!

rain 1 - kurupt 0

Good learning experience today as I was my own enemy, never adapted to the condition or tire and continued to make the same mistakes over and over trying to push it which resulted in multiple fails :(

i gotta give it to pd they did an excellent job on the weather trying find your braking point through the spray was hella difficult but very realistic.....2 thumbs up from me!

Anyone driven in 100% rain and surface before ?

Great race guys that was tough going. Can't believe I ran out of fuel on last lap I put the same amount of fuel in that I did in my mock race and had fuel left at the end of that :0

Well done to the podium guys.

How the feck are u guys at the front running 2:04s WOW kudos

I'm wondering that when qualifing alone, even though there are no other cars visible, can you still pull a draft of someone?  Because the entire lap when I hit that time, I was seeing the little arrows from time to time and I think it was Jonny in front of me.  I have no other explanation about that lap as it was a good .5 seconds faster than my previous best.  Also the track was dry during qualifying.  Was not even close to that during the race

Good race fellas! Although I wish I would of bought some rain tires prior to the race, having to run on race hard tires the whole time was tough. Thought we could get any tires we wanted any time as long as the lobby allowed it.Know better now. Tried to view the replay but locks up my ps every time must be due to the time constraints of the system.

Stevie – what tire compound were you on when you ran out of gas? From my vantage point it seemed like hard…think I had more grip in turns than you but not down the straights?

What disappointed me (besides my 3-4 screw ups) was that it “seemed” like race hard tires worked amazingly well in full wet conditions...on this course anyway. No doubt Brnt is considerably faster than me on Monza with this car but I had at least 5 laps on heavy wet tires when the surface water was at 100% and I may have been still losing ground on Brnt with race hard tires still. Now I might be the worse wet weather racer on the planet but that still doesn’t seem right does it?

I did test 100% surface water on my own before (AWD Lancia Delta at Silverstone International) and intermediate wet tires were definitely faster than hard/soft and heavy wet were even better than intermediate so it definitely works right but maybe dry tires are just a bit too good in wet weather maybe?

I think this Monza track plays a huge part of that with lots of very long straights but it makes little sense that Brnt can even stay on the track with slick tires when we have the maximum wet conditions. I wonder if the “low” grip setting is allowing this…me gonna test this and will report back.

I went to Intermediates on lap 11 when I pitted and what I experienced as that I could get on the gas a bit harder out of the corners and on the breaks harder without any real drama.  My thought process was to stay safe and keep on the track rather than being on the absolute edge.  That said, the IM's pushed really bad and would not turn in under braking. Found braking early getting the car slowed before turning in was key to then accelerate hard out of the corners.

Gotta hand it to Brnt though to run that well on race hards!  Well done

@Parcells i changed to inters and i felt i had more grip than the race hards. i did however run the wrong tune that was unstable on the curbs so was taking it very easy in the wet conditions.

I just noticed that you can have 3 tunes for each car and had it on the wrong one.

I would also have thought that we would use less fuel in the wet seeing that we where going slower but i still ran out :(

Stevie was catching me each lap once we got above 80% water and I thought for sure he would catch me at the line on the last lap till he ran out of gas. Best lap times I could get from that point on was 2.18's to 2.24's once it got 100% but drastically had to change my whole driving style, braking points, roll throughs and turn in points, it was really tough. I had to really baby the car and keep on it hard otherwise spinouts etc tough to keep it on the track.

I used Heavy Wet Tires on last 10 laps I believe,  my lap times dropped considerably when comparing to the race hard lap times.  I used more fuel when compared to practice,  I believe it was due to going off the track and having to accelerate through the gears to get back on the track, which was alot.  Hopefully it will be less rain next week.

Edit: I suppose it is not fair to say,  "my lap times dropped considerably when comparing to race hard", due to the conditions constantly changing.

I'm loving the racing in GT6!

PI had dropped back as far as 11th but kept pushing thinking I wanted to at least finish where I qualified, 9th.mWhen I pitted, lap 14, I was way back but took on IM and a tick more fuel than recommended. Wound up finishing 5th. Gues it pays to always push.

Next week.... Daytona's 24 hour infield layout. I'll be running a lobby later tonight. Gotta figure out the day/night transition cycle. Feel free to jump in guys.

Do you guys want me to open up the series to all types of tire compounds?

I originally chose racing hard tires to keep things affordable. I don't want to make guys spend tons of CR trying out tires that they may not even use once they test.

I think it would make things even more interesting with open selection of tires.  With the races 40-50 mins in length, decing on the tires to use for Qual/start will dictate your stratagy.  Im find either way though

Despite my fuel problem iv really enjoyed the racing today and I think the weather has added to that I hate it just being sunny all the time.

And like Xsitement says it may have been the 3-4 spins I had that messed up my fuel.

After driving in the worse conditions gt6 can hand us....unless there's an ice storm available :)  I think the racing wets are pointless to be honest with you if you are capable and faster in 100% track cover in intermediates what's the point unless we had something in settings wrong?  Cause in a monsoon like today there should have been noway you could have driven with anything other than wets.  The other thing I noticed was I ran 14 laps on hardship and my tires were still at 10 all round by the 4 th lap on wets I was at 8 and 6 when I finished....which in theory means there's a bug in the tire/weather model that has the it backwards

wet track + racing slicks = bad handling slower times

wet track + wet tires = better handling and times that should be faster than someone on slicks

to me my tires felt and wore like I was on a drying track, massive under steer on exits while the rears were just melting away and much slower times.  Iam not sure if any of you follow the btcc or not, but there was a race this yr at croft when rain started before the race Plato and his team mate started on wets while everyone else choose slicks for the first bit Plato and his partner were miles ahead while the track was wet than it dried there tires fell off and they ended up both getting lapped in a 15 lap race

http://youtu.be/4YWgIwD0ySI

I encountered the same but in opposite conditions lol

as for opening up all the tires...if what I suspect is right how much faster will the other 2 slicks be capable of if the hards can still manage ?

My .02 is leave only the hards and replace the wets with intermediates :)

Must be the car because we just ran the sciroccos in the wet and using anything but inters or wets was impossible. Jonny had racing hards and by lap 5 was been lapped with 30% track wetness.

I just tested the Mazda with the same setting as the race however with Real for grip setting and on racing hards, the car is nearly undrivable at the start of the race @ 30% let alone going all the way up to 50%.

In short, with the grip setting at low the weather has little affect on the car in comparison to "Real"
