had to leave the xbox immediately after the race for some working in the homeoffice.
But there is one question from me: How in the hell can you start so quick, that I loose nearly ALL places. Where do you get your speed from?
I am waiting for the replays to watch the show at the front. At the end of the field I felt much lonely. So lonely that I lost my concentration. Aahhh, it was good for you all, that I had shut my mic down. I was yelling at me.
More training for me (if RL will allow) and maybe someday I will catch up the action. Or maybe someday someone will join and will be slower than I am?

Well I can only tell you what I do, in the case of the Mini I hold the revs on the red line for take off, then floor it when the revs have dropped to 4000 and that's it.
Well that was so much fun tonight, Strating dead last in race 1 I managed to gain a couple of places on the first lap, had a few gentle love rubs from big muscley camaro's in the first few laps, but settled nicely into my groove, managed to miss the mayhem on home straight which bumped me up to 7th and held station for the rest of the race. Race 2 started 6th and fell back to 10th on first lap, then made my way slowly up the field, made some nice clean overtakes, then fitzy and helios ran off track which promted me to 4th, held this for 3 laps then statred to get a nose bleed from being so high up the order, with fitzy breathing down my neck I ran wide on the fast right hander and fizty helios and antz went flying by, managed to pass antz again a nice clean pass I had a couple of laps to catch Helios, chased right to the line, damn another couple of laps I might have had him, brought my little mini home without a scratch, I know, can you believe it, no contact from me on anyone, I took what Knight said to me about suicide dives up the inside, instead this week I waited patiently behind for the chance to power past people on corner exit, definately helped me that peice of advice, so now I break early slow in fast out, all in all the best races I have ever had, thanks guys
I felt gilty to send Cyber out on first race that i reviewed whole situation ,and now i feel litle bit less gilty
I been caching Cyber when Fitzy ask for a spece on my right (havn't saw him), tryed to leave him enought of room and i aim car straight behinde Cyber - braking just a bit later than He and first contact to his bumper - Cyber start to drift into the corner I been following him really close .....
Small touch but i'm not sure is it change anything as He been sideways thru the whole corner , i keept the gap ....... All the job finished Fitzy :-) ....
Well done Shadders and I'm glad I could put that last piece of the puzzle in place for you, I am still learning race craft, and that more than anything else makes a great racer. When I am passed by Gizzie, or Pap or Tourni it is because they know where and how to do it, never been touched by any of them. That is what I aspire to. Well your on your own now mate, I have given you everything I have, now you will need to look to the Aliens

This is where it gets difficult :) Your whole driving styles starts to change from here as you adapt to other drivers. You get used to people around you and know how to defend your position against them. Unfortunately, it comes with mistakes and there isn't any other way to learn. You are going to go off and take people with you, we've all been there.
The trick is, plan the manouver lap in advance. Send a dummy down the inside of the corner you think you'll make the pass and see if you can make the pass stick. You'll see us do it when we are looking for a gap.
We are always aware of the car behind and we know what their potential is when we enter a corner, we know when the pass will be coming and the trick is to let it be clean as it is faster for the both of you. Also be aware when the driver is going to over cook the corner, you can then give them enough space and let them sail right by! :)

there is still plenty I can learn from you Knight, when I can compete with you on equal terms thats when your job will be done, Thanks for everything so far

Its taken a while to get the aggresive overtakes out of my system, thats what the public hoppers had done to me. I am definately more aware of the cars around me now and getting to know people styles is a great help.
I definately planned my overtakes tonight, didn't just rush in, followed them, saw where I was quicker, and made my move, cleanly, so much more satisfying when its done correctly
as for being overtaken, I knew certain cars were so much quicker than me. but held onto my place as long as I could, once I knew a move was coming, I gave them room for the pass, without making it to easy, then tucked in behind them, that way we all got round the corner without incident, again very satisfying,
I would like to say a big thanks to everyone, for the help and encouragement given, it has made me a far better driver/racer and I will continue gleaning knowledge from you all.
I would say that if the person was going sideways infront of you, moreoften than not its better just to breath the throttle so you dont make contact. IF you do then there is a big chance they will collect you and take you with them on their off road adventure.
This week i have received a few PM's about the contact.
Please remember its light contact only, the idea is that you bump a car just enough to put them SLIGHTLY offline, you can also lean on a car through the corners but this shouldn't push them off the track.
PLEASE remember to keep it clean guys the contact is for nudging only and should not put a person off the race track.
Techniques to do this should be rolling off the brake a fraction, a touch of throttle or just coasting. It shoud be no more than a few mpg difference! :)
Bastek, sideways in a Camaro is the standard, especially when you have to take a tighter line to protect the grass against you pesky Mini's! It is only a game and as my daughter called me for dinner it was probably a good thing I went off or I would have been in the dig box even more than usual.
Second race was doing much better until the long right handler when two Mini' s decided that they wanted to occupy the same piece ofmtarmac as my rather batted Camaro. End result? A quick visit to the barriers and down to 8th place.
Next lap, same corner same thing! Again not a problem but did mean I spent the next 15 mins lapping by myself In 10th spot. Could I ask that the mini guys remember that a Camaro is on the ragged edge of its limit of adhesion and it does not take much contact to take them out especially on the faster corners.
As a general question, in room 2 as the Mini's are a constant 3-4 seconds a lap quicker than the Camaro would it not be worth looking at the tunes to balance things up a bit more? Just a thought.

I was in one of those shunts mate and I'm afraid I was as much a passenger as you, I was going passed you on your outside when I was rear quartered by another Mini sending me straight into you...Ruined both our races.
Its difficult cyber - I was running around 1.33.000 with my fastest being a 1.32.600, gizzie was also running 1.32.500 in his mini. The problem is that the camaro is harder to drive because of what it is, it requires alot more dedication that the other cars.
If i make the camaro faster, it absolutely dominates the mini especially on the next few circuits.

I had spent 30 minutes wording my response to this but technology failed before I posted and now I cant be arsed to type it out again!
Needless to say the general gist was.
The 3 Camaro Hero's where all running in rhe 2.35/2.36 region against the Mini 2.33's. Last week we were a consistent 2-3 seconds off the pace as well.
My comment was that we could probably cut down on the amount of contact and offs by increasing 'slightly' the grip on the Camaro to reduce the gap in terms of cornering speed.
This would be a room 2 change only.
And just for clarity I will NOT be piloting a FWD BMW next week!
Knight,
This is just a game and for me is a release from an incredibly stressful job, I do it for fun not to win at all costs so I lay the blame at no ones door.
My only comment, and this sort of links into my response to Torni. This is sim racing and as such impact has no real consequences so therefore some are more brave in their maneuvers than others (I will admit to this myself...) however, in the real world these actions would result in you having a very nice chat with the race Marshall and an even nicer chat with the chap whose car you just totaled....
OK, not as well written as my original response but you get the idea.

IRC - the camaro is already maxed out on grip. I would have to check this :) The mini will always put in a faster time when on a clear track because it is a pure handling build. However, as soon as you stick a Camaro in its way on a corner, that handling is void. The mini now becomes alot slower than the camaro as the mini will not pull the same speed down the straight, you must use the start to your advantage and instantly get on the defensive.
Generally the camaro can get within .500 sec of the mini, the mini gains the rest through corners. The next two tracks are very tough on the mini as there is limited overtaking spots :) 2 places to safely pass, one of them being round the outside :)
If i take speed off the mini, the mini cannot get close enough to the camaro to battle so the call is impossible to make due to driver skills also. There is no doubt the camaro requires a better driver to keep ahead and you'll be learning more race craft than the mini drivers.
Like cyber said - the contact shouldn't be heavy at all and people will lose positions if it is deemed unfair. The contact should never put some one off the track completely.
Many thanks for your comment, mine was an observation based on the differing skill sets of the room 2 Camaro drivers (no disrespect to any) and the consistent 2-3 second difference.
Looking forward to the next race, have l already attached my extra large bumpers in preperation....
Personally I feel that the difference between the Mini and Camaro is down to your God awful choice of wheels. Everyone knows that TTD's decrease lap times by at least 30 seconds....
Just put in a few laps...this is ging to be interesting. As Tourni says less overtaking spots. Going to hound you Mustangs through that long curve if your gonna run wide that is where it will be
In the heats we ran after the race, the Camaro wasn't closing the gap on the Minis w/ their superior corner exit speed until top of the hill on the back straight. Be interesting. At least there is only a couple more weeks in these cars, then maybe I can stem this points hemorrhage a bit.
The car is a blast to drive, just not enough pace for us mere mortals. The speed differential has me driving much more aggressive-defensive than I usually do, to try to stem the 2sec+/lap difference.....which led to the contact between me & Knight coming off the final corner.....which in turn led to the snafu on the front straight during my re-entry.
Speaking of which, who has the replay on their storefront? I'm curious to see if there was a car that was hugging the inside that I didn't see, or if my car slid further into the track than I thought it did when the initial re-entry contact happened. Either way, sorry for the stack up. I think (hope) I was the only one that got screwed by it.

If no one speaks up Helios I’ll stick the replays on my storefront tonight after the sWhite vs. Hyper race.
Parcells was on the inside of the last turn when you and Knight had your kebobble. I wasn’t sure exactly what happened between you two but the next thing I know is I see you drifting towards the pit lane (which I thought was odd) but I had more momentum than the two of you because of your contact so I hammered down planning to pass Knight on the inside when you came back on the track and all three of us met up with the wall in a hard way.
Not sure what Knight’s investigation will lead to but no doubt he’s looking at Parcells driving with a microscope as that was third of four times in that race that we had contact. My memory recalls all of them as incidental contact but we’ll see. The first two times I just misjudged my braking points and slightly tapped his rear causing neither of us any grief or lost positions and the above was the third contact (I was between you and Knight when you came back on the track). The fourth was the most detrimental to Knight when coming out of the kink. “I think” he had to let off a tad to prevent hitting the car in front but I kept on it and snuck up (literally snuck up, pretty sure he had no idea I was there – upon reflection I should have verbally told him but oh well) on Knight’s left hand side, we were basically side by side, some contact ensued and he got the worse of it spinning into the wall. Sorry Knight and if you find I was in the wrong I’ll probably deny it.

I knew you or someone was there and as you were on the grass and I was on the track I held my position, two hits then came in quick succession, the first no problem...the second was harder, well that one spun me off...not a happy Knight, but over and done with and I hope next week will be a little less incident fraught than my last three races.
You should get a good run on the mini to the first corner, stick it tight to each apex and there is no room to pass. Dont forget, grass hopping is not allowed ;)
This is the easiest track to hold off the mini on, at the top of the hill is where they will make their pass. You should however try and get a clean exit and take them back down the straights.
Not fun...
Whats up Knight?
Let me review the races, I don't want to say anything at the moment.
No worries - Just waiting for Fitzy to give me the results of Room 2 and i'll get them updated.

This is the full track :)
Oh yeah no sweeping bend...silly me. I was running the right track as well...another Kight brain fart LOL.
