LOL so much for that theory, back to the drawing board. Actually having just chased Paps ghost through the first corner at Mugello time and time again it's just fine car control on the ragged edge, he has it, and at the moment I don't.
I told you in the other thread Tourni hates my brake setup, and the reason is because he uses heavier engine braking.
It's totally a personal choice, I just find I can be much smoother if I'm not using a lot of engine braking. This is something you'll have to try out for yourself to see which you prefer. I rather know that I'm using all four tires as much as I can all the time rather than have the amount of braking done by the rear tires be too dynamic.
No matter which braking style you favor, you'll want to be able to use both techniques so you can adjust to any car you drive. When you get to the threshold limit, and only the front tires start to break loose you know you can apply more engine braking for maximum stopping power.
Yeah..I stopped using engine braking on that corner, it got me closer but still couldn't match your speed through that section. My RWD skills are just not up to yours at the moment...give me time
you will probably find that he throttles up sooner but lighter, that gets the rear set for more accel. He'll then increase the power until the car twitches and from there on its increase with a fight. Get it right and you'll rocket out of the corner :)
What i found (wiritten about it somewhere) - if You brake in game and drop down gears the same (as lets say racing way of reducing gears on the braking) car become really unstable and tend to loose grip - my thought about is that in real car if you brake and drop gear by gear You lose brake pedal a bit after every clutch relase what stopping wheel lock. In game You can not feel on Your body is the braking stronger on clutch relase and You tend to keep brake pedal constantly pressed in........... hope that You know what i mean..... This is the major difference between games and real racing - i wish to have proper silmulator .........
Brakes are for whimps, all they do is slow you down...you want the pedal on the right.
FINALLY someone with a basic understanding of physics spoke up to set these boys straight. I thought Parcells was gonna have to be the voice of reason again (when we're all in trouble). It's a wonder you guys can race at all not understanding this basic concept. Geeze.

It's true no one knows basic better than Parcells.

That home simulator is amazing, and yes we loose a lot of real world input...but...the Aliens manage to put in very fast times, in Tourni's case with a joypad, so not even the extra input of force feedback. Of course the nice thing is as soon as I do hit my skill wall I can just get another one on one and get a new list of things to work on
Mini replay on SF - 1.36s are possible just need to get used to the mini. However, this will show you how i learn the track and adjust lines to get more speed through a corner. Lap 4 is my quickest. But i invalidate it because i got on the throttle sooner than i could.
Have a really bad dose of flu at the moment but have had a practice. A High 1:36 once after a fair few laps. Very difficult IMO.
Watched your replay. Only thing different are 2 fractionally later braking points.
@knight - sounds like your on the pace.
I use engine braking, it wont loose you any time and the braking can be just as effective as not using it. :)

and that is the art of racing :)

Bastek - I do throttle match to stop shift lock and some times adjust brake pressure if the car is a particular handful :)

1:36's are certainly possible
1.37.5's in the camaro - lap 6 on SF now
thats actually 154th on the leaderboard lmfao
Heh that was a little kidoligy...need to sort out a couple of sections where I am losing time, like you said this is a tricky track.
Tourni,
Are the TransAm tunes already on your store front? I assume so but too many posts to go through.
Or you could just go to Tourni's storefront and find out for yourself.
Good racing last night.
I hope the lads in the test session got some tips they wanted.
Ze what tunes? :D
All series tunes should be on my SF :)
Yes thank you Church I got to Tip you a few times.
Yes I remember
You ready Minis
It pay back time...
Camaro FTW :D
Parcells will host room 2 Tourni.
Thanks mate :)
Really looking forward to this :)
I don't know if I'm going to make it today or not. I'll be there if I can.
