I wish all of you a good race at sunday! This will be the last Mini-Race during our season. Hmmm, shit, because now as I know and understand a little bit more of this GREAT little car, I have to learn a new one. The Mustang.
After Monday I hope I will have time to train more with that .... hmm how to say ..... beast! Will I ever learn to drive so "fast", that the rear doesn't want to freak out? I will racing at three tracks and here are the first photos.

I found the '70 stang more stable then the new one oddly enough, it's the one I will be driving.
Pretty crap first race .... nice to released in the middle of the race that first corner can do in full speed. Involved in few contacts ,let people come back to positions and end up last....
Second race better ...
Thanks for the race You all.

Yeah i saw this - I have a incident to investigate but i dont know what it is yet. Hence my comment don't dive bomb the first corner, If you do that others will try to follow and it causes havoc. :)
Points are up - Ive awarded Poidsly last place - he was gonna turn up and start the race then quit to get the points. I told him not to be a silly sod and stay in bed :D
Second race was better, unlike the first I only lost positions because drivers were faster and they passed clean or I made the odd mistake and gave the position away, this I can live with. I don't care about being passed I do object to being battered out of the way, smashed into walls or way off track and sent to the back of the pack. For me it's not about winning at all cost, it's about having fun and racing with whoever is near me at the time, I don't care if it is for first or tenth. After these races I was in a room with Cotter and Boza and a few others...great fun great battles and clean racing. someone apologized for tapping so lightly I hadn't even noticed I really hope this returns to the EUSL next week, no contact will be the rule and if we all stick to it it will be so much more fun. I will be running in the low orders because I hate hate hate rear wheel drive LOL but I want to enjoy battling with those around me regardless of where I am.,
Yes I know you do mate, and really I think everyone does. I think some folk may get a little frustrated when being held back by a slower driver, but that is the wrong attitude. I was racing with Cotter and holding him off for two intense laps, I gave him a glimpse of an opportunity early in the third lap and he took me...but I retook the position on the next corner. His reaction? he whooped with delight as I dived inside on the next corner and appeared in front of him again, both clean overtakes. of course he soon took me again, but that brief moment when I outdid the man himself made the entire race for me and I think him too. I feel the same, if I am behind a slower driver who is doing a great job of driving defensively it is fair play to him, I have to work out where I can take him or force a mistake. If that takes half the race so be it, I will have learned something, he will have learned something and we both should end up going what a great race!
Anyhow I look forward to next week, still got to decide which mustang I can manhandle around the track best and paint it.

To everyone this should be how it's done. And also remember that it is not possible to make a move on all corners.
I also agree with Tourni, driving in trafic is an aquired skill and overall people have been improving over these past races.
Cyber, again sorry for the punt, I saw the gap and went for it while you closed the door on me. Tried to move more to the inside but had no traction left to turn sharper while full on the brakes.

Glad I made sense, yes there will be racing incidents, just like the one you described there, we sometimes take different lines and what appears to be a gap opening up can just be someone taking a slower line in to get the throttle on sooner on the way out...voila the apparent gap is closed and contact made. This I think is a factor of not having peripheral vision I know there are times I have had a driver sitting right beside me and I cannot see them at all, do I cut in to take the corner? do I stay wide and try to out accelerate on the way out or cut in to retake on the next corner? pick the wrong one and there is a coming together. Shame we can't all have three xboxes and three tv's I so envy those that do :-)
Yes - narrow view don't help at all - try to focus on front to avoid contact going into corner but no control what is going on sides ...... Another think is that even when someone tell you that is on your side problem is when You leave space for one You can knock out someone else as you going different line in the corner different speed and or You end up on grass or back pack will hit You...... Always try to leave a good gap but few times a had problems becouse of it.
It is hard to judge when a good time to make a pass is, some times you take a chance and it pays off. I still do, but I know when to back out of the pass and hopefully only come out wounded.
Trouble is, it's all down to seat time and practice with traffic, think people did really well this week :)
Well,I am glad to see the back of the Camaros that is for sure!
Actually had a good race in the first heat and finished a creditable 7th. Sorry to say this was not repeated in the second race when I was unceremoniously punted off by a gaggle of Minis and just could not find my way back.
Leaving a gap and going off line whilst still mainting speed is just about the hardest thing you can do in the game. It requires very fine throttle control to keep the nose of the car rotating to where it needs to be. Practice will get you there, I was impressed with how fast some of you are getting :) in most cases though, its better to cut back in and retake them later :)
As for a car taking a different line - well the jist is, if the doors left open then some one will stick their nose in. If you have a car with more power, then keep the door closed because you will kill them on the straights.
Things went my way at Sunset, although I managed to roll the mini in turns 4 and 5 which put me in last place but managed to fight my way to 5th and first in the division. The second race I found myself on the front row (Yay) got a good start with only Goose an Tourni passing me. I held on to third for the rest of the race and had enough of a gap so Hyper couldn't catch me before the finish. So two first places not a bad days racing.
A well deserved one though. I was right behind you when you rolled it, was a close shave as i went by haha. I also distinctly remembering me telling Goose to get a f.ing move on as your closing in hahaha :D

Nice photos JDan.
Just remember to be smooth and progressive with the throttle and she will be ok.
Although I still haven't started one of these cars up yet, but whatever car Tourni goes with I will be doing the opposite
I think JDan is away this weekend.
And may be Parcells will not race due to Fitzy beating him all the time
Okay So Rooms are

Your still in the running mate - Dont forget 4 lowest get dropped :)

I agree Knight - Contact should be minimal at all times :)

Mustang next week, cant wait!

Zeratul,
It is only a game, dont worry about it and apologise if my earlier comment came across as a bit harsh I was trying to be light and think I failed.
Anyway, lets see how you hairdressers get on next week when we are all in Men's cars!
I can feel the hair growing on my chest now....
P.
Dont beat yourself up on it guys.

Hello,
sounds like you had fun last night. Are there replays in any storefront?

P.S that was a bit of a gloat.
Congrat !!
Now need to find what is better for me - old or new Mustang - non of the options looks good :-)
