Forza Horizon Info & Updates.
Looks like a little info is starting to make it's way out to the masses. Plus we should be hearing a lot more this coming week at E3.
It’s an open-world racer with dynamic day and night cycles, and takes place in Colorado – as you can see via the screenshots below. Looks a bit like Route 550 to us.
The game will also contain gas stations, paint shops, car dealerships and players can race various vehicles in the game, including a plane.
US cars and a US setting...maybe when it hits the bargin bin...and that wont be long on this side of the pond. 1 fuck given. Shame, still it's saved me a few bob to go towards new graphics cards.
Horizon will likely be a rental for me. Try before I buy. But that decision could change in the next week.
I'm reserving judgement until after E3.
But does it play good?
Hooning it up in a Forza-esque open world environment is enticing, though.
They will be announcing new stuff everyday this week about Horizon.
Will wait and see what come of it.
Now, to convince the wife I need another Forza.....
cant you just use all the old ones fron when you were a kid.
"But all my friends will be getting it"
"I dont want to be the uncool kid" This was used if your parents tried to buy cheap gobots insted of transformers,
Or just buy it if shes anything like my mother she couldent tell the diffrence between mario kart and gran trurismo anyway.
I like what I see so far. I'll probably pick it up day one. I know, I'm a sucker...what can I say.
I wonder if Forza Horizon is a glimpse at where they want to take Forza in future versions. I remember seeing an interview where D. Greenawalt stated that the reason they didn't do night racing in FM4 was because, basically, they didn't want to compromise the quality of the graphics that Forza fans have come to expect. Whatever, I guess that's somewhat understandable. But if Horizon has day to night transitions then I hope that it's something we get in FM5. That would be cool.
TDU3?
If it's an open world like TDU2 then I'll probably buy it day one no matter what... BUT looking at these screens I'm worried there will be inpenetrable fences and invisible walls keeping you on the road sort of like NFS-Hot Pursuit which worries me. I'm assuming the physics will be arcadish... I'm just hoping it's not ful blown NFS with cars pivoting around one axis and drifting everywhere.
Honestly, I'm hoping for TDU2 with MUCH better physics, better career mode, functioning MP... just better everything!
I echo that sentiment!
Ok I just watched the new trailer from E3, it looks good gumball rally meets need for speed hot pursuit without the police. Still all I want to know is how does it drive? Forza 4 physics or a bit more like an arcade racer. Time will tell.
Hello,
after my experience last sunday (from on moment to the other NO fucking connection anymore to Forza and my so long awaited EUSL-Race) I won't buy a single bit from Turn 10.
JDANKERT
From what I heard, it isn't T-10...

^^This trailer has me more nervous than excited...
+1.
Seems very Need For Speed.
To comment on my comment... some previews are starting to come out and what I've read sounds way better than the trailer had me believe. Mainly, they built this game starting with Turn 10's graphics and physics engine so surely it won't be NFS or Burnout handling.

There's also an article on Gamespot's mobile site but apparently it's not on the main page yet.
yeh I had all kinds of connection issues with a bunch of games over the weekend.
I saw Rally racing.. I loved Rally in GT... That could be fun.
I'm interested. Quite a variety of cars in that trailer. Off road too. This is a definite maybe for me. I hope that there is a livery editor, the same level of customization and private lobbies. Can you imagine what the Timmies will be like in that environment?
Is it me or why is no one mentioning the fact that they show night racing. Woohoo finally we have night racing.
Parcells don't see what the big fuss is about. Looks like a lot of hype and very little "racing" from what I can tell....at least track racing as racing on real highways don't excite me.
And of course there are the all important physics...if they suck any worse than current Forza then the games mostly useless.
I have heard that they couldn't get the licence agreement from EA to include Porsche's in this game though. But don't worry they'll probably work something out down the Horizon road at minimal cost to you.
Looks like an alternative to the Need for Speed franchise, which has made EA a ton of $$$. I like the fact that it has rally racing, M$ had a great rally franchise during the Xbox days, Rallisport Challenge, and I hope the rally in this game is built off that. This game is clearly marketed to the masses, not the hardcore sim racers like many of us. If you want hardcore sim racing, look at rFactor, iRacing or Richard Burns Rally or one of the many other PC sim racers out there.
Speaking of hardcore, does anyone know if Forza Horizon will support triple screen play?
From that eurogamer article:
Creative director Ralph Fulton - another Codemasters veteran - delivers the soundbite: Horizon is "the point where car culture meets youth culture and creates a place where cars belong."
This is one for the Timmies...
Yes I shuddered when I read that...As an aside, and something of maybe more interest to track racers, anyone else spotted Project Cars is headed for the Box? now that I would be interested to see.
I hope all the timmies run to Horizon.

that video didnt fill me with hope for it
