I agree the PC games are definitely more SIm than Forza, but the reality is they are all just games. Unless you are actually strapped into a race car and are on a real circuit it's just a game.

I agree with you Fitzy, but some don't.  I said the same thing during an iRacing race a few weeks ago, in response to a guy that was yelling and screaming because someone wrecked him.  The response I got back from another guy was "this is not a game, its a sim.  Look on youtube, you will see that there are some guys who spend $50,000 on their rig."

still a GAME even if iRacing is more sim than forza they are all games no matter how much you spend on equipment. perhaps iRacing is for the older crowd with more money... whats that saying... "bigger boys bigger toys"?

not everyone wants to spend 50,000 on a hobby... for those who dont forza is the best way to get into the hobby and progress from there if the individual wants to.

Not my definition Fitzy, there are Sims and there are games, try iRacing then you will see...sure it is not real, but lke crazy golf and the masters there is a difference. Forza is pick up and play, nowt wrong with that. You don't need to worry about entering and leaving the pits safely...is possible to do a false start? when was your last drive through penalty? yellow flag? tire change because it has started raining? track temperatures changing from day to night affecting your lap speeds and grip. These are some of the things that divide the two. I now sit both sides, I like Forza, it's pretty, its easy to play and you just turn up and race...if the servers are playing ball, if MSL hasn't screwed your wheel with an untested update...and in my case if I have some kind of internet connection. I also like PC Sim racing for the immersion, race strategy and "real world" physics.

As we are not going to see Forza 5 until the 720, and the 720 will be even closer to it's PC roots than the two previous, the difference hopefully will disappear. No reason why it can't be all things to all people, rF2 for example has all the things I have listed and all the same gradable assists as Forza, race conditions can be true to life or removed to Forza levels. I would love to see Forza come back with the ability to ramp up the realism, drive through penalties, flag system, weather, day night racing...everything that would rank it up with the best PC sims, and retain the playability of the original game. Turn ten could teach PC Sim programmers a thing or two about how to make it look good, something at which they excel, and if they added to that the level of immersion the PC sims offer, well I would be first in the line to buy....

A thread on FM.net links to a German article that seems to comfirn dynamic weather effects and other details...

In a new german hands-on from Juli 17th, there are new infos about weather:

Real action, simulastisches ride

For everything you do, there's "Forza Horizon" points: For drifting, if you ramming an opponent of the line or break through a fence to take a shortcut. Almost always pops up a little yellow number at the height of the rear-view mirror to unlock cars and new fields. And how it rides? Breathe "Forza" fans can, for "Forza" is "Forza". We turn off all driving aids, the Viper feels really snappy on, we must be careful that the tail does not break and commute the car again. Even the underbody makes big difference, since "Forza Horizon" is a fully dynamic weather system brings. Decide we become a shortcut through the desert and it starts to rain, the fine grains in the thick mud ever locked the wheels and allows us to be much slower.

Once reset, please

"Forza Horizon" plays a lot with the weather in general and its surroundings. We want an opponent in the Mercedes SLR McLaren 722 can overtake that briefly spin the wheels on sand swirls and blows us the seeds on the windshield. It quickly developed a great momentum, because the desert, finally, not a closed course and not really tight, ergo, we drive the enemy extensively overhaul and not directly head-to-head. If you lose control completely, and sometimes crashed into a tree crashing into a house, or kissing the guardrail, flashing a "Y Rewind" button. So you can rewind time and iron out the error once.

The Fast and the Furious. Action and Party

In terms of staging is the new developer Playgrounds Games at full throttle. The British care little change to "Forza" conventions and "Horizon," a David Guetta more in concert than a boring race simulation. At night, DJs spin and swing their hips and slams hot ladies on the day groovy sound from the speakers as it is otherwise rather of "Need for Speed 'are used to. Even the cars look a bit more stylish, can be tuned with underbody lighting and chrome fixtures. Whether a nitrous oxide injection has been provided but not yet revealed, but as our Viper SRT had a red button on the steering wheel NOS is likely that "The Fast and the Furious" feature considered to be confirmed. The eponymous "Horizon" festival as a whole played very consistent and prevents you must you click through menus as usual. Instead, you look with your car, at the Tuner next time just to raise over thicker rims and racing at PR events for Porsche to win send a new base.

Conclusion

Do not worry love racing purist: The original developer Turn 10 is working on "Forza Motorsport 5" needs, but a little more time. Therefore, this party speedster is inserted, but has made us really, really happy. Microsoft has compiled with the Playground Games is a dream team from the former studio Bizarre Creation (PGR, Blur), Black Rock Studio (Split / Second), and many designers from Codemasters, which conjured up before with "Grid" and "dirt" amazing racing games on the asphalt have. The love of racing you can feel the ride is clearly tuned for authenticity and "Horizon" to continue a "Forza" simulation. But just one that makes noise, and parties celebrating the pop-alternative sound with 300 cases out of the speakers can.

A question asked on the Forza forums is "is it a good idea for Turn 10 to have 2 IP's". I have to say yea.

Forza is getting bloated in 'Features' some of these features are cool (Rivals) some not so much (Car Bowling). The forums are filled with people asking for more and more features to be added to Forza, most are not circuit race compatible. With 2 titles Turn 10 can focus on making the best console circuit racer imaginable, and sluff all the fluff off onto the new little brother.

By not having to include Car bowling, Soccer, Auto-cross, (put your favorite here) in Forza it will make Forza stronger, and the more 'Fun stuff' they can add to FH the better.

So, weather you plan on buying FH or not, ain't you glad it is there.

Jaysus Cotter just chewing the fat, chill dude. No offense meant or as far as I can see made. Interesting post there Naked, dynamic weather? is that the first mention of it in relation to Horizon? So day night transitions and dynamic weather achieved on the 360...maybe we might see another release of Forza before the 720 then or perhaps a major DLC though that is I imagine less likely. The addition of the Codemaster team is great, TOCA is still my favorite game from the past. I think from the announcement of Horizon it has been muted the that leaves the door open to make Forza a more pure racer, though I hope they do keep the sense of fun.

Just had a look and it says the car is "Exclusive Content" and cannot be used.
