Loving the game so far. Only downside out of the box is no multi-monitor support, but I am sure that is coming in an update. The Day 1 patch is 1.2 GB, but it downloaded and installed fast for me. The game menus are much faster than GT5. My CSW wheel and Clubsport pedals work fine, as does my Basherboards SFA-1 connected Thrustmaster THR8S shifter. The FFB is definitely improved over GT5, I feel what the car is doing much better. The graphics are a big step up from GT5, the lighting is particularly striking. There is some minor slowdown when there is a lot going on on screen, but it is minimal. The cockpit views look awesome, even higher end than GT5. The AI is no walk in the park, but if you have a good car and avoid crashing, you can win each race. I already busted out my first 15th anniversary edition car, the Ford Focus, and it drives great. It is awesome to have so many new tracks. Just tried Brands Hatch, and I am about to do Willow Springs.

Buy and play with confidence.
Zero...Thanks for the Critique..Great as Usual..Putting in Kitchen sink now after Water Heater...Hopefully later on!!
I just did my first set of license tests and my first ever "coffee break" challenge. Both are hard to get Gold or Silver, but Bronze is doable. These are not my favorite parts of the game, but they are there if you like that kind of thing. The Goodwind Festival of Speed is tough, since the road is so tight.
I also just did my first dusk and night races. Very cool, you guys who have not played GT before and have yearned for night racing are going to be in heaven!!!
The car sounds are fine. They are not as authentic as Forza, but they are still diverse and rich.
Did I mention that the graphics are awesome? They are comparable to Forza 5. Yes, I said it!!!
Those of us that got the 15th anniversary edition will not need to buy a car for a while, other than the required Honda Fit at the beginning of the game.
As for me, I have received both the game and the PS3!!!! Hokked it up, updated the OS, Logged in with my PSN ID and now getting the 1.01 updated for GT6. Next I just need to ge the wheel sorted and I'll be off and running.
The game was waiting at my doorstep, along with my wheel stand, when I got home from work. Took a while to get the wheel mounted, and finally got gt6 updated, but so far I've only run 1 race because my 3 year old took control of the wheel. Hopefully I'll get a chance to give it a go later tonight.
One disappointment for me is that online is locked off the bat, until you complete some races. Sure, I was going to anyhow, but really what's the point of that? What if I just wanted to get straight into mp, especially since alot of people have all those 15 anniversary cars from go... Just seems stupid and a bit archaic to me

I like the idea that you must complete a few tests before your allowed online. Bit of basic training. They do this on iRacing too

I stick by my statement. Perhaps I was spoiled by Forzas openness when it came to such matters.
In the end, it's not going to ruin anything for me as I planned on playing sp for a bit so that I can get accustomed to a wheel, but I doubt most people that need to learn the basics are going to just jump online, and well, I seriously doubt forced sp deters timmies from being timmies.
That being said, I can't wait till the kiddo goes to bed so I can dig my teeth into this game and give my wheel a whirl
Thanks for the info guys. Craig, I'll keep your tips in mind to help expedite the process. You going to be on late? Maybe we can run some laps? Granted, I'll have to get through the A-License and everything else first.

No problem man. And yes, I do plan to be on late tonight. Just shoot me a text if you do not see me on PSN. It took me a couple of hours to get my A license, but you can do it quicker.
First, Im loving the tracks so far. Most are brand new to me and seem to be a blast to drive. I also dont mind the working thru the licences/levels right now. Being new to the series, Its helping with the learning curve. That said, it will take a few hours to get thru the levels so that the MP is unlocked (at least for me as I wonder around a bit)
A couple things that seem off to me. 1 - Would love to only have a Braking Line only option. While I currently dont mind the full racing line as I learn some of these tracks, It does take away from the immersion. Although the FFB is much better now (Thanks Zero), I still dont feel the curbs like I expect I would. The only other thing that is bugging me is the sounds. It seems like the revs get loudr in some parts of the track while it can be difficult to hear at other parts. Again, I could just my settings.
I will say the early levels are really easy to beat which Im sure is building up a false sense of security. Will be good to get into a room with you guys soon so the fun can really begin.

There sort've is. Nothing on the track, but you will get a flashing gear indicator that perfoms the same function. I'm assuming it's there with the line on. I've never run with the line, but that is what I use as a heads up.
I have played about an hour so far and this M.O of the game so far I got my B license and completed the first championship series and also first round at the wood. I am using the Csr Elite wheel (G25/27 option) and FFB is ok nothing compared to F4 . For example when the car goes off the road and hits the sand or grass you get no FFB no vibration at all , when you run over the curb bumps again nothing. As for the FFB when the car is on pavement that feels good. Now to the sounds of the cars, some sounds are ok some others not so good nothng close to F4. Example if you have the 15 th anniversary car pack that you get for pre ordering thru Gamestop select the Ford GT 40 and tell me what you think . . Visuals look alot better than Gt5 . When trying the different car views all look good, Problem I'm having ,when I go to cockpit view it seems that you lose brightness almost as if the windshield has a tint to it. I like the home page it's much more responsive when making selections in menus. I really like all the different track options. Regarding the FFB and the sounds this could possibly be some future patch which I'm hoping for. So back to the track I go.. Hope to see you on the track.
A couple of standouts for me was the snappier response of the menus and thus far anyways, the resolution of GT5s "standard" cars are much improved. Some of them still don't have the full interiors, but at least they have full exterior modeling for the replays. Throttle & braking are easier to modulate with a controller. Having fun with it so far.
One thing I have noticed is you need to be a lot smoother with your inputs with the stock tunes/cars. I've been running the Z8 for the most part and when I installed the full race suspension and differential, it made a huge difference. Is it me or do these cars out of the showroom (un-tuned) feel really soft!!!!
I do feel these are a bit tougher to drive than FM4 especially when it starts to get out of shape. I have spun/crashed more in the past two days than I have in months with FM4. Mostly because I'm still learning the tracks though which I must say are a blast!!!!
The most Major Thing so far to me is that the payouts are Truly Paltry!....Will be a Major Issue!!!....Still trying to figure out why you have to update each and every car picture to see what it looks like....WHATTTT The???.... Love the Game..Graphics..Physics..Cars...Tracks....And Most of All.....Fanatec Wheel and Pedals are Compatible..Plus Turtle Beach Headset....HO HO HOOOOOOO!!!!!. Maybe the Money I saved I can use for Credits.....Going to Need Them Unless I Run 24/7 on GT6.....UGLY!!! Seems like I am having luck not using the Skid Recovery. All races ran have been without it. Looks as if Zero...Rusty...& Parcells were Right!!!
So many new toys to play with. Personally I love all the new stuff.
Took a few races to get the pad setup how I wanted with the brake and accel placement etc getting there now where I don't have to think about the pad just where to put my car etc.
Just going through the License now and I hate how they have linked them up like a rivals thing with people on my friends. Means I have to get in to the top 3 for each one.
All the new thing just blow my mind (Lights, Wipers, Horn etc)
Also Liked how I can change the color of the dials.
The cars feel very nice and handle good on the edge.
The AI seems very easy but I expect that to get harder.
New tracks are fucking awesome. Brands blows my mind!!
So yeah I'm just collecting money and going to see how far I can get the Fit.
Also I have turned the Racing line off and i'm using the Gear indicator, When its flashing it time to change down lol
The graphics are extremely good.
Sound. TBH I though this was going to bed bad after what a lot of people say about GT5 etc but I find them good. Its not totally life like but not far off either.
I like how you can change your Oil etc it makes me want to look after my cars.
Also I like how it shows you how many miles the car has done. Oh and the Boost gauge
I suppose the first 20min I was a bit miffed and kind of like ok this is just another racing game but then I started to notice things (Like the guy waving the Chq flagged) and its starting to be pretty much everything I hoped for.... Upto now
I just hope the Multiplayer can live up to the quality shown in single player.
So 3 hours in. Completed all B and A class licences got over 100,00 CR and 5 free cars (clio rs, xbow, s2000, go kart, Alfa thing). I haven't used my codes as I'm going to save them for when I get my ps3. Then go cart area blast btw!

30 Hours In CPro and you will be able to buy a million dollar car! 600 Hours in and you will be able to buy a 20 million dollar car.
So after I got my A licence I set a lobby up. You can run practise laps while people join on the fly then do a qualification event then the race, Time and weather is adjustable, race flags, fuel and tire Ware usage on 6 different settings, aero and mechanical damage settings are separate, and adjustable, insane amount of tracks, handicap penalties this list is endless. Mega impressed

Sorry I couldnt join you. I was in the middle of a 5 race championship and didnt want to abort out of it. That said, If only FM4/FM5 could have this much control of a race lobby!!
So finally had to buy my first car so I could complete the National B Career (needed a 1990 - 1999 Asian Car). Not bad so far with the anniversary cars on the gift cars been able to run just about everything. Looking at the stats, I've spent just over Cr. 500,000 in the tuning shop out of the Cr. 600,000 earned so far. That said, I have 4 fully tuned cars now
I really like the "Favorite" option in the garage as I can flag the cars that are fully built up in there so I know what to expect when I pick them.
Tuning these are pretty straight forward (haven't really put much thought into the tunes yet other than just stiffening these bad boys up but it really makes a HUGE difference over stock (IMHO).
There is one car though that is going to be the death of me. The XBow is an unruly beast (especially at Mount Panorama)!!!!!!
Once you get into the National A races, the credits seem to be doing better.
However the highlight for me so far was taking the BMW for a lap around the ring!!!!! Damn that was fun.
Really looking forward to getting in some races with you guys. Sad thing is I only have a small Bluetooth headset that I use with my phone until Christmas so hopefully it will work in the lobby
Took the VW Scirocco GT24 for a spin around the Nurburgring 24H layout. Set the time if day to 7:00 pm and time progression to 10x. To my surprise, I kept it in the track. By th time I finished the lap it was totally dark. My time? 9:50. Anyone gonna try it.
I'll get back to you about GT6 but this thread is impressivley premature dont you think? LOL Excited much Church?
Do yourself a favor and run it in 720p it will run smoother with less slowdowns. I still think FM4 cars look better.
Soooo?
Hopefully the delay is coz the people with the game can't stop playing it!
