Anybody have a comparison between FM5 and GT6? I have FM5 and usually love the series, but with so much missing from FM5 this year, I am really disappointed in the game. I still have my PS3, but have not yet picked up GT6.

Is it worth picking up GT6 if I already own FM5?
I have both Forza 5 and GT6 and have played them extensively. One of the issues with playing both games is that there is no wheel and pedal set that works with both. So, unless you have separate rigs for each, you will need to play one or the other, if not both, with a controller. I have a Fanatec Clubsport wheel and pedal set and they only work with GT6, not Forza 5. That means that GT6 gets the immersion edge. Depending on your wheel situation, you might decide that GT6 is your only choice, since it works with many existing wheels, some of which are quite old, such as the Logitech Driving Force Pro.
Wheel and pedal issues aside, both games have their strengths and weaknesses. I personally like GT6 a little more, primarily because I can use my wheel and pedals, and because it has a better car and track selection. Forza 5 has 14 tracks, GT6 has 39 tracks, with more coming for GT6. We do not know whether Turn 10 will release more tracks for Forza 5. Forza 5 has around 200 cars, GT6 has over 1200, with more coming for both. Car DLC in GT6 is better because you get each purchased car in your garage. In Forza 5, like past Forza games, buying the DLC merely makes the cars available for purchase with in-game credits. This double dipping pisses me off. The graphics in Forza 5 are better than GT6, but the difference is NOT night and day. Forza 5 has better implementation of open wheel racing, including F1, IndyCar and classic F1. Online racing in GT6 is much improved over GT5. I rank it ahead of the Forza franchise generally, particularly Forza 5, which lacks some of the key multiplayer features from prior Forza games, including gifting of cars, tunes and paints. Forza 5 also requires you to join a party before you can get in an online lobby with your buddies. The economies in both Forza 5 and GT6 initially sucked, but both Turn 10 and PD have improved them immensely via updates by reducing the cost and/or gifting cars and by upping the rewards for running and winning races. With regard to controllers, I personally like the Xbox One controller better than the PS3 controller, primarily because it fits my big hands better, has better thumbsticks and because the Xbox One controller has force feedback in the triggers. I never thought I would again play Forza with a controller, but I am and it works. Yes, I want to use my wheel and pedals with Forza 5, but if that doesn't happen, I will live. PD will likely continue to update and offer more content for GT6 for the next 2-3 years, until GT7 is released. Turn 10 will probably stop updating and improving Forza 5 after six months, if they follow the same plan they have used for prior Forza games.
To answer your question, yes, you should pick up GT6. It is a different sim racing experience than Forza 5 and is very much worth experiencing. Plus, IMO, it will have a longer shelf life than Forza 5.

I think I will pick it up today. Can I add you guys to my friend's list? My gamertag is "trex187" for PS3.
I just find myself getting bored with FM5. The multiplayer is terrible. No options, no good way to join private lobbies with sim settings. The career mode in FM5 is also disappointing. Every race is 2 or 3 laps, start off in the back, and try to crash through everybody so you are at least 5 or 6 place after 1st lap. There is no real sim strategy racing in career or multiplayer in FM5, which sucks because of how well it looks, feels, and sounds. So much potential, but T10 just dropped the ball on this one. I feel like they are moving away from sim and more towards average racer/gamer.

Definitely worth it. You're going to love the variety. As a matter of fact, send me a FR as well.

Yes, please feel free to send me a friend request. My PSN ID is Zero7159.
I can understand your boredom with Forza 5. It is not boring for me yet, but I also have not played it much. I am only Level 36 in the career mode. The lack of tracks is starting to be noticeable, although what they do have look gorgeous. I also have ratcheted up the drivatar difficulty and that has helped in the challenge department.
I've made quite the investment in a GTO collection as well. It's funny how the most infamous car for hacked credits in FM4 gets used in GT6 for banking glitched credits.
Yea, finaly have a working headset and mic!!!!! Got the TurtleBeach PX22 for xmas and they sound decent for the price. Will still use my Tritton's for single player but I can now communicate in the lobby. No more typing!!!!!!
Just picked up a brand new super slim for £99 from Tesco. Now to install this 2.5g hdd in to it with out a caddy. Also the caddys are like rocking horse shit.
I fecking hate the AI. That is all

When I did the glitch, I went back to 1.01 and sold a few cars and had around 45 mil at one point. There is also a topic at GT Planet it about it also
