Checked out Goodwood last night and that put a smile on my face. The selection of cars they give you (ran first 9) are freaken awesome as they all handle noticeably different. Definitely not looking forward to the Red Bull X1 though...that car sucked in GT5 and I suspect it to suck just as bad with GT6. When you need to get under 50 seconds it can be a struggle...what are we looking at for the Red Bull gold time???

Then I checked out the Lunar stuff but I don't think I was high enough to enjoy it...kind of neat but mostly stupid :)

The Goodwood events are a nice cash cow though. I think I'm only half way through but was netting $24000 for a minute of track effort...Now that I think about it, can you re-do these and still earn credits?

I might have to give the Goodwood challenges a wide berth, as they just piss me off - I'm amazed Lord March keeps inviting me to smash priceless cars into walls for him...sad

I had the same reaction initially, but now the Goodwood challenges are growing on me.  I have gotten seven gold medals so far, which have netted me two prize cars and loads of credits.  I now know the track pretty well and so its just a matter of adjusting to the particular car.  Part of the trick for me was figuring out whether to use the paddle or H shifter, whether to do cockpit or classic GT view and how much I can get on the gas coming out of the turn, once I hit the apex.  Some cars are definitely easier than others.  I tried the Red Bull, but have not even managed to get one clean lap.  The car is just too fast, and I cannot see the track well enough.  I am going to try the class GT view and see if that helps, since it allows me to see more of the track.

I agree the key is knowing the track and where you can push it.  the hardest part for me was the left hander after the hard braking point.  Keeping the car under control under braking there can be twitchy at times.

I know the feeling on the Red Bull car.  It took around a dozen try before I completed a lap,  Lucky for me it was 30.5 and earned the gold.

Just did my first rally race as part of the International B series.  For those of you with wheels, I ask, do the physics and FFB get any better than the rally cars on Toscana???

Snappy, snowden and i were having a blast in the Mazda Roadster Race Car at Silverstone and monza with the draft setting on strong and that produced some of the best racing I have experienced in a long time (especially at monza).  Talk about a great way to practice clean passing into turns.  It helps when you are racing guys like Snowden and snappy with race real clean.  That silverstone layout was taking a bit to learn how fast you can take some of the sweepers.  Although a little rough, nothing that you could recover from and with more laps on it, it would smooth out a bit.

That said, these Mazda Roadster Race Car needs to be in a series NOW.  The cost is 167,000 Cr and its perfect bone stock!.  Great car Snappy

Oh yeah! That was some great racing! Such a great little car. It's unbelievable how hard it can be pushed without getting in trouble right away. I think I actually set the slipstream to "weak" but being that I'm not great with these menus yet it may not have stuck. Did you notice that the draft was more pronounced when we were doing practice laps at Monza and then slightly weaker for the race? Either way, all I ask is that it's run on the weekend so I can race. That was awesome!

I just assumed it was on strong because the draft was such a significant impact on the race.  If never raced in a draft that stong before.  I thought both the race and practice was the same as far as draft

Yeah a few guys was talking about the draft last night saying it was set to strong but when I hosted the room it was set to weak. Maybe we should try strong and go from there. Also that race in the rain at brands was majestic. Following maps spray was something else.

I'm going to get on in a bit and start a lobby to run the Mazda Roadster Touring Car. It's a chance for me to play with lobby settings and try out some new (to me) tracks. Anyone is welcomed to join. I just don't know if my Bluetooth mic will work or not. It's hit and miss with that thing.

It was just Snowden and I running around in the Mazda Roadster TC. Still good fun.

PI have a question for the GT guys... What is the "Boost" feature in the MP lobbies? Is that what allows drivers to catch up to the leaders if they've fallen behind or had an incident?

Since we can go shopping any time we want, besides the Mazda are there any other cars we should have in our garage for lobby cars until some of the series get going?

I think I have sorted out my headset issue but wont have it until Christmas.  In short, I purchsed a bluetooth headset that just as the ear buds and a wire from them to the mic/control that I can clip on my shirt.  This way I can use my tritton headsets (which sound awesome) for the general game sounds and have the ear buds for the chat.  Keeping my fingers crossed they work!

I have the sony pulse head sets. not the elite set and they sound great. You can probally get them for about 60 dollars online. the only differance is is doesnt have bass boost. Before I bought them I had a pair of turtle beach px3. the mic didnt work so I taped a bluetooth to the mic wand and used that for chat and the game sound came through the headsets. worked pretty good that way. you will have to set it up in the sound setting to work that way.

Uh oh.... Got any clues as to the cause? You think it's definitely something in the game/software?

its the first time in ages anything like this has happened on my ps3 usually the hole game freezes but in gt6 things where still moving on screen I just could not do a thing with wheel or controller the only button that worked was the ps button on the controller but that just seen to shut the ps3 down

Hate to say something silly like this but, check to see if the disk has a smudge on it or something. Again, sorry if it insults your intelligence. Not meant that way at all.

So.....just spent my first couple of hours with GT6/PS3.

1. Graphics - It lacks the fine gloss of FM4 IMO, but I don't think that matters and I hardly noticed as it feels like the game is designed for a racing experience.

2. Handling model - only used the FIT so far but I'm feeling weight distribution properly, which Forza just does not communicate. Initial reaction is that I like it. Much more naturalgrip it seems, and easier to feel limits. Progressive.

3. FFB lacks the definition/resolution of FM by a great margin, but steering input and raw feedback feels far more realistic. Little feel for grain and texture of tracks, but FFB in steering terms is very strong and natural on my Elite.

4. Sound - yup, its weak compared to FM4 - but I don't care

5. Overall first impressions - feel like I did when I first fired up FM2. It's frickin great.

IS ANYONE ELSE USING AN ELITE? HELP!!!!!!!78

if so, can you walk me through how I select and map buttons. Do I just select in game wheel options? G25?27? Which one? Do the 2 options for g25 refer to the usb port the wheel is plugged into? Which buttons correspond to what with your chosen option. Very confused.

First thing I did was check the disc as my boys do tend to leave finger marks on them it was clean. All is well now it seems

@Poidsly I use the CSR and was told (forget by who) to use the G25 wheel setting and it worked a treat I can map all my buttons
