Delicious. The dry hop/brett combo gave me the first impression of Orval. But it had the subtle fruity character of a saison and the mild tartness of a young lambic/Flanders to offset the spiciness of the hops and yeast. At 4.5% abv, it was really easy to drink. If you like wild fermentations, I’d definitely suggest giving this a try.
FWIW of the two other Jolly Pumpkin beers I tried, I also really liked the Oro de Calabaza. The Bam Noire was good, but didn’t make nearly as happy as the others.
Great beers. Especially Spotted Cow. My father in law lives near the IL/WI border and picks us up a 12 pack occasionally.
From WI, live in MN. My fridge usually has Spotted Cow, Point, or Leinie's. The land of good beer. What do you expect from a state that has an MLB team called the Brewers? BTW, if you are ever in Milwaukee go to the Lakefront Brewery. Good beers, great tour, they have Bernie's slide from the old County Stadium. Search youtube for Lewis Black in WI/Milwaukee. He explains how Wisconsinites are not alcoholics, we are professionals :)
been on a hefeweizen kick lately. got some shiner hefeweizen in the fridge getting cold for clan nite tonite, and the kid bought a 12-er of blue moon pale. couple of weeks ago had a franziskaner hefe-weisse....

Franziskaner hefe-weisse is *the* beer that started my journey into beers from Germany, Belgium and other countries in general. To this day it is still one of my all time favorites, especially since it can be found for about $2.39 a bottle here at the local Hy-Vee grocery.
I'm working on a case of this. Not too bad, a little hoppier than I expected. And I'm lucky, Victory Brewing Company is only a half hour from me. I stop by and fill a growler up with something whenever I can.
Tried out the new Shock Top Lemon Shandy. Its pretty good but only has an alc% of 4.2. Its a nice beer for when your out working on the yard. Apparently its only available until the end of July.
I should point out that I like dark beers. The closer to steak in a bottle it gets the better. The lightest beer I like is Foster's. My usual goto is either Guiness or New Castle. On April 16th I tried something truely awesome, St. Sebastiaan's Dark. AWWWWWWWSUMM!!
I have a pic on my phone but no website to post it for linkage. So, I looked it up. Not cheap but worth it.
How was that Bam Biere?

more Half Acre "Gossamer"
Very crisp, but it's as complex as any American mass produced lager. I give it a solid "Meh"
Both on draft, I had...
and
I had a Bare Bock from Naked Dove. I would have posted a picture but all there is left is the empty growler.
I'll be having some Double Dog this weekend.
