Ah, The President

Whenever the President tries to, you know, talk, he often screws it up. This one was too funny not to share:

"I've, I've got a eckullectic reading list." << Click to listen

Obviously he meant 'ecclectic.' Nice try, though.

Match, Laptop, and New Job?

I posted in the Halo 2: Competitive thread that my team got swept by Profanity. I have to agree with Drost in that the KOTH Midship games was one of the most spectacular games I've ever played. Of course, it would've been better had my team won, but it had everything you love in a match: intense fighting, come back win, massive deaths, explosions, narrow victory, etc. We did a great job getting in the hill, however, Bioslayer did an outstanding job of occupying strong locatio

Compaq Presario for $349 Inc. S&H

I'm considering ordering a Compaq Presario V2000Z for $349 including S&H after $200 in mail in rebates plus an instant $200 off (linky). The only thing I'd change is to up the memory from 256 MB to 512 MB, which would make it $399. The OS and stuff I can upgrade myself and I have all the other software I'd want. Anyone have any

Team Spooooon vs. Profanity

My team is poised to uber-destroy Profanity Sunday night with our 1337 74c71c5. We did some BR practice last night, and everyone was shooting 70% or better while doing RRXYYRRX and playing claw. With cross fire, we can totally destroy nubs in like 1/5 of a second. Don't even come out from hiding, because it's like instant death. We scrimmed Wednesday night against FB, and they lost KOTH on Midship by a score of 5:00-0:02. Walshy sent me a FR. I denied it. NO TIME FOR NUBS. We also beat them at CTF Warlock by a score of 6-0. Yes 6. I learned a combo that enables me to get credit for

Ordered a New PC

So we ordered a new Dell last night. I really would rather not have had to purchase a new machine right now, but seeing as how our laptop and PC both decided to die within a week of each other, we didn't have much choice. As far as deals go, I think we got a good one. For $678 including S&H and tax, we got a 3GHz Pentium 4 processor with 522 MHz FSB, a 160 GB Serial ATA hard drive, 1GB DDR RAM, a 17" flat panel monitor. I opted out of upgraded the OS, DVD drive and what not because I already have all the software I want and can remove my DVD burner from my current machine and install i

MRI Experience and Tuesday Night FFA

My MRI was an interesting experience. They stuck me with an IV, layed me on a table, put some kind of mask thing over my head to prevent me from moving, and slid me into the center something that looked like a jet engine. There was barely any room in the tube. I'm not a big guy yet my arms were pushed closer to my chest and hips when I was slid in. If I was at all clausterphobic, I would have totally gone apeshit at that point. Then for the next 45 minutes, the thing pulsed and beeped its way through my insides.

Labor Day Weekend, MRI, Match, and Gameplay

So I developed a tremendous amount of respect for single parents. My wife went to Atlanta over the Labor Day weekend, and I watched our 1 year old son by myself. He's an easy child to care for by any measure, and still I was ready for my wife to come back by yesterday! It's tough being the only one there for a kid. I only experienced it for a few days and can't imagine what it must be like to do that for years on end. My hat's off to single parents everywhere!

Laptop Is Dying

My laptop screen goes funky whenever it's moved or even looked at wrong (see the help area forum for more details if you're curious). I basically use my Gateway 450SX4 for email, internet, and capping/gameplays/montage stuff. So, no capping for a while. Hopefully I can figure out a way to fix it, but things don't look good. I'm chatting with a customer support person who seems to speak English as a second language. She's assured me that the video chipset was not designed to be replaced or upgraded. Oh wait, she just said I could mail it to Gateway at my expense and pay approx.

Hooked On Gaming

CNN.com video about gaming addiction. Of course, the kid they interview plays Halo. He doesn't even stop playing for the interview! I also love how the directory of the game industry something or other denies that gaming can be addictive. Anything can.
