Carolina opens their college basketball season tomorrow in the pre-season NIT against Sacred Heart (a.k.a. the losers).  They defeated Pfieffer yesterday by a suprisingly high scoring game of 140-101.  Although they won by 39 points, they led by as many as 55 and allowed Pfieffer to score 66 second half points, which is unacceptable.  The second half score was 70-66, good enough to account for most college games.  Anyway, there's a lot to be excited about for UNC fans this season.  I expect us to win most all of our ACC games including a sweep of Dook.

I got Splinter Cell Double Agent last night! I watched the training videos and played it for about 30 minutes or so before I turned off the XBox to spend QT with my wife. It looks awesome. I dig sneaking around, using different tactics, and doing a goal-oriented campaign just because it's a nice change from Halo. However, on my very first mission, I went all commando and shot the shit out of some bitches before some douche started yelling at me. I restarted the mission and played all stealth-like to keep the brass happy. Even in my virtual life I'm jumping through hoops 4 da man.

Several among us are moving to Gear of War, and damnit, I want to be one of them.  I'm tired of Halo now, and GoW seems to be a great alternative from everything I've read.  I told my wife I wanted a 360 for Christmas and she just sort of laughed at me. :(   At least I'm getting Spliter Cell Double Agent this week so I can play that for a while.

I felt like I was going to hack up a lung this morning.  After taking Friday off sick, taking medication all weekend, and sleeping the weekend away, I thought I'd be better by now.  I had to log off XBL early last night because I just couldn't stop coughing.  I'm better now after taking some Sudafed, and hopefully this'll die down soon because I really don't want to go to the doctor again.  I've seen more doctors in the past six months than in the preceding six years.

Not much going on today.  I'm setting up a web cam for my boss so he can do some conference calls.  I toyed with the idea of putting up a special web cam show for everyone, but you guys wouldn't appreciate my artistic skillz. :D

Yesterday, I tried to make it through the day without coffee.  By 3pm, I was shaking like a wet chihuahua and felt like I was going to break out in a sweat.  I hated everything and everyone.  My wife called me around then, and I was completely miserable.  It's amazing, I had said nothing to her about stopping drinking coffee, and she asked me, "Have you had coffee today?"  "No."  "Go get some, for the love of God." 

I just returned to my office from my dentist appointment - which means I took the elevator to the 3rd floor and walked down the hall.  In addition to my regular cleaning, the hygienist prophy-blasted my teeth.  It sounded promising before the procedure because she said it would remove coffee stains and whiten my teeth a bit.  It did that but my tongue and lips hurt like a bitch.  "Prophy-blasting" must be a euphemism for what dental professionals commonly refer to as "sand-blasting."  That's about what it felt like.

Yesterday I visited an ENT doctor (ears, nose, and throat) about problems in my right ear.  He diagnosed me with Meniere's Disease, prescribed a medication and put me on a low sodium diet.  I've never been one to look at the labels of things I ate, but I started doing that last night.  There's salt in everything!  I was going to have Cheerios this morning but it has 300 mg of sodium.  After looking at several of the cereal boxes in my pantry, I discovered that Frosted Mini-Wheats has only 5 mg of sodium, so I had that.  Then at lunch I started looking at the chips I normally eat, Cool Ranch Do

So lately I've stayed up a little later than I should while playing Halo. I'll make a point to log off of XBL no later than 12:30 AM since I can still get over 6 hours of sleep, which is plenty for me. Anyway, last night we were eating dinner, and I asked my wife what we were doing that night. Out of the blue she coldly says, "I don't know, you'll probably be asleep by 9:30 PM."
