Have you done a good deed today?

Snakemeister gave me an idea today.  He related how this morning someone had asked him for directions to a certain building and at the moment of the encounter, he didn't recall the location.  A few minutes later, after walking away, he did remember and went back to the gentlemen and gave him the directions since he never would have found it otherwise.  Basically snake went out of his way to help this other person.

Alright, so what does this have to do with me?

Thoughts from the road

Yep, on the road again. Here are some random thoughts from my time the last two days.

Wind turbines that aren't moving on a visibly windy day?

Fall has arrived.  The colors of the leaves are changing to yellow and red.  Yet, with the green that hasn't changed yet, the trees provide a nice respite to the dead and dying corn fields I'm passing.

Lonely Traveller Part deux

Last night, before nature's show started, I decided to drive through town and see what it was all about, what dining opportunities were available, etc. I found out that the emergency room is on one side of the hotel and there is a golf course in front, a bowling alley behind. What I found down the road beat everything I have ever seen in a small town.

Every town needs one of these.

Tornado warning

There is something very eerie sitting in a hotel room and hearing the tornado sirens sound.  I step outside and look up.  The clouds are grey and wispy white and moving in a counterclockwise direction.  Not real tight in the swirl, but it is quite the sight.  So, what does any good midwestern girl do?  Call her husband and say "Guess what, I'm watching a tornado try to form overhead."  Too cool.  These aren't scud clouds either.  You can see an area that is circular and rotating and is is lower than the other clouds.

The Lonely Traveller

Oh, what a night, late December back in '63.

OK, that little snippet just popped in my head, but it was a late night yesterday, or rather a long day.  Work has ramped up to the point that the phrase, "When it rains, it pours" just doesn't quite fit.  More like Flash flood warnings.  Yet, when things are slow, I'm in drought mode.

My feelings on color

This information is from freshome.com

How colors affect the feeling of a room.

RED
Red raises a room's energy level.  It's a good choice when you want to stir up excitement, particularly at night.  In the living room or dining room, red draws people together and stimulates conversation.  In an entryway, it creates a strong first impression.  Red has been shown to raise blood pressure, speed respiration and heart rate.
