Well, the sickness that took Dastard and the stepson out of commission for two days is finally catching up to me. Unfortunately, I have to be out of town for the week. I really felt this coming on last night while I was working through some homework problems with a friend. My sinuses are filling up and draining so I have a sore throat. I kept waking up because swallowing was painful. Now, I'm tired and feel very sluggish. Not looking forward to a 2.5 hour drive into the middle of nowhere. Yep, today was the first time I have been in the saddle (horseback) for almost two years. It was a good feeling. I had forgotten how much I missed riding. I wasn't on long, just enough to test my leg strength for physical therapy. Oddly, my ankle gave me fits before my quad. Well, I know what needs to be done. Stretching and the foam roller on the side of my calf and leg. Break up any scar tissue present.
Yep, today was the first time I have been in the saddle (horseback) for almost two years. It was a good feeling. I had forgotten how much I missed riding. What has changed?
Well, both Dastard and the oldest are sicker than dogs (no offense to dogs). Chest colds and they sound baaaaddd. Ok, good news, I don't have it....YET.
Remember the air conditioning? Well, the diagnosis is that the compressor is going bad. $1500 to replace. OMG. No there is no warranty left on this vehicle except for the computer and catalytic converter AND IT IS STILL HOTTER THAN SIN HERE. Piss and moan, piss and moan.

(Bad) But, we were only five minutes from Dastard's parents house so we were able to change vehicles and continue on our way. (Good) Air conditioning is on the blitz. Here it is Monday, Labor Day. Three of the teenagers have left for their drive home and the house is already quieter except for the two tvs showing a three way battle in Halo2. Yesterday was Dastard's and my first anniversary. Whew, we made it a year. Our next goal is another year. You know, keep expectations low. No, not really, that is a running joke with us. Don't expect much and be happily surprised when those expectations are surpassed. It was a good day.
