Well, I gave it another shot on Wednesday night, and had a better go of it.

First - the first mission in the plaza was frenetic and a bit of a sensory overload at the start.  The second half got a bit better with some light stealth - I would give that about a C - it just didn't play well for me.

I'm a Clancy whore.  I buy all the Tom Clancy games, even if some of them don't hit the mark (EndWar, Hawx).  I have been playing Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon since their original PC releases.  I don't like that strategy has been eschewed for more run 'n gun style gameplay and have still been able to find merit in the iterations that have come sense.

It's been a while since I posted.  I chalk this up to a number of factors.    

1.  Work has been kicking my ass.  Who would have thought running a small business, working full time on a demanding account and starting 20 new people and getting them trained up would be such a time sink?

The other night, my level 50 Marauder took place in an 8 main raid of the eternity vault.  It was a fairly good time, but after it was done, I noticed that I was under 100k in credits.   I started looking into the economy on the server (Sith Meditation Sphere) and found prices to be fairly high.  I then took to my level 24 alt, a bounty hunter with biochem.  Now, at that level, biochem recipes pretty much revolve around an hallucinogenic compound.

I'm still plugging away in SWTOR.  I have been plodding through PVP and gearing up somewhat.  Signed up for a raid with my guild, and nobody showed.  I can understand that some cons have been starting up, but if no raids materialize in the next couple of weeks, I may need to rethink my current alignment.  I've been playing with a Bounty Hunter Powertech that I've gotten to level 21.  I did have a fantastic night of PVP with it along with some of my guildmates.  It makes a huge difference having a team talking on Vent.  I was getting over 100k damage using the BH.

Small update on SWTOR and my early impressions of Kingdoms of Amalur.  I'm splitting my time between the two, and generally enjoying both, but some things are starting to bug me about both.

 I'm sitting at about 25% of the way through level 49, on my march to level 50.  Even though I've been playing MMO's since City of Heroes, this will mark the first time I've ever actually taken a toon to the level cap in a game.  I've been playing WoW since launch, and still don't have a maxed out toon there - but I will qualify that - I played for about 3 months, then gave it up because it was consuming me in a bad way.  From time to time, I'll dust off the sub and play around for a weekend, but I've never let it draw me completely back in.

Tonight, when I get home from work, Soul Caliber V should be on the doorstep.  My girl and I like playing fighting games against each other, despite us both being terrible at them.  She's a pure button masher, and I'm primarily a "try the right way, then button mash when things get hairy" fighter.  Should be fun. 

Back in December, I had a quiet, passive-aggressive argument with my lady, so I retreated to my man cave.  In the interest of finding something to do for a couple hours, I started going through the netflix catalog, and decided to watch Sons of Anarchy.  I think I watched four episodes that night, and was hooked.  The next night, I made my way downstairs and put in the fifth episode.  My girlfriend started watching with me at that point, and was hooked.  We got through the first seasons on Netflix and then were left with a conundrum.

My girlfriend found a cool media cabinet that holds 230 dvd's.  I figured this would be cool for the xbox, ps3, wii and blu-rays as well as special DVD's.  I thought two would do, but she talked me into getting three.

She then found an ios app that scans games and movies and got started on my collection.  It turns out that I have 466 Xbox 360 games.  I figured I was at around 240.

I think I'm going to ease up on the clearance/bargain bin for a while.
