I don't know what it is with me lately.  Gears of War 3?  Haven't opened it.  Batman: Arkham City?  Finding it 'meh'.  X-Men Destiny?  Finished it and went back for more.  Captain America: Super Soldier?  Halfway through it and enjoying it.  Do I build up these big event games into some unattainable expectation of happiness, or do I just prefer games that are in the 6.5-7.5 range as far as quality? If so, am I the equivalent of the weird cinema guy who would rather watch Killer Klowns from Outer Space over Citizen Kane?

I like racing games.  I suck at racing games.  I find them fun at times, infurating at times, fulfilling at times and non-sensical at times.

Let me reiterate:  I suck at racing games.

So, last night, Forza 4 came out, and I have been working late.  A new gadget, the wireless racing wheel also released.  Since I'm all about gadgets, I decided I would take Best Buy up on their offer of a $25 gift card when purchasing Forza 4 and the wheel.  

Dragon*Con has come and gone once more.  I think I'll have a pretty light con schedule up until this time next year when Celebration VI and Dragon*Con hit within a 2 week span.  After getting home last night, I decided to play some Limbo.  Glad I finally got around to this one.  It's bleak and creepy, sort of invoking a very bizarre dream.  All in all, happy with it so far.

I'm somewhat thinking about picking up Madden after work.  I don't particularly care for the NFL, and while NCAA 12 is good, I got fed up with Road to Glory mode never giving me the damn ball despite me getting 80 yards on 4 carries per game.  However, this year, we have Julio Jones and Mark Ingram to play around with, and I did like last year's game, although it didn't really work it's way into my rotation heavily.

I haven't had too much time for games lately.  A few days ago, I had an itch to play a flying game.  I have the following that I've never played:  Ace Combat 6, HAWX 2, IL 2 Sturmrovik (too lazy to check spelling), MySims SkyHeroes.  Additionally, I have Over-G Fighters, the Battlestations Pacific and Midway games,  and HAWX that I could play.  I decided to go with Ace Combat 6.  It was okay, but I wasn't aware I had a timer on a mission and stayed to blow up enemies and ended up failing the mission.  The game didn't do much for me, so I decided to put in HAWX 2.  This was a little better f

Okay, so my girlfriend has two young boys, ages 7 and 9.  The 9 year old has taken up reading Harry Potter books this summer.  He's about mid way through the second one.  Good for him - I'm very happy that the kid is reading and enjoying it.  Me and the lady go to comic-con last week, and the boys stay with their grandmother (her baby daddy's mom).   This lady is one of those hard core religious folk.  Usually, when the boys stay there, they come back with some new song about God or Jesus or something, it's all good.
