Beware, gold farmers sending out IM's on MSN

A few people on the forums have received IM's from a chinese company looking for gamers to "rent' WoW characters. You pay them in virtual gold (which they can then go sell online). They say all their farming is done "legally" - because they're handing out accounts for gamers to use with a 30 to 50 gold "fee" for playing.

Undercover gaming

What is the best use for a blackberry? Catching DSMooth doing some "work" in his cube. Graphic quality is poor, not a great camera + not great light + fast action shot = this image. Let's play a game "guess the game" that dsmooth is playing....

WoWSmooth

Those who guess the right game win a gold star and a pat on the back.

Sound of the PS3

Check it out, this is the sound of the PS3, I found it on Kotaku (either one of the editors or a random submitter)

PS3's "sound of silence" - although it seems to take a bit to load games... :)

Are you getting a Wii?

If you are, would you pre-order it online if you could get it on the day of release or maybe a day later?

My wife and I are trying to establish some idea of how many to pre-order. Given we'll make, roughly, 0.20 cents on each order, our goal is to order enough to cover the demand of people that want a Wii soon and a few more for stock. I know doodi is ready to Wii it up and I can get, right now, 5 orders from people I know.

If your interested in getting a Wii this Holiday let me know.

Market Research :)

So I'm looking at investing in some N64's - I'm trying to figure out how many gamers would actually invest in an N64 and what they think a reasonable cost for said device would be.

If you would buy one, what games would you expect to play on it?

No Sales Yet - still holding out

Well, the wife and I have had the site up for a few days now. We're getting some good traffic, roughly 48% of the traffic is sourced from 2old2play - so thanks for those that are taking a look around.

The statistics are wacked at the moment because of my early development and testing google analytics, most of the early traffic was me coding :)

We're still hoping for good things, we've not made any sales yet (besides me and my Castlevania DS). We're hoping the next round of games will yield a few sales so we can afford to continue advertising.

Magazine Slips to Early November

Now, in a two-month release cycle, the next issue of the magazine will fall in early November. The Oct/Nov issue is late because of many outside influences (my time, our teams time, the editors time, etc.)

Mostly my time. :) The next stage is off to the designers to lay it all out and for me to proof it.

Thanks,

Finally, our site is live...

Yet, the work is never done. Thanks to TANK for finding a few bugs that I was able to fix (used games were listing for the price of new games or not at all). The games were the right price, but the listing "looked" wrong.

Doodirock found a post issue using IE6.

The Holidays are coming, what do you want this season?

As gamers we're all clammering to save up the money for our favorite holiday game release. It seems Nov. thru Jan. are going to be hot months for upcoming releases.  XBox 360's Gears of War, Splinter Cell, NFS: Carbon, Viva Pinata, PC Gamers want WoW's Burning Crusades expansion in January, and of course the two upcoming 7th generation consoles: Wii and PS3.
