Time to Push up Home Insurance

As product inventories come in for my wife's site it is time to expand our insurance. I was planning on calling them before the stock started arriving but forgot due to all my other responsiblities (oh yeah, and I've got a crappy memory). DSmooth reminded me this afternoon so I gave them a call.

Good news is, when I need to buy a 360 game my shipping fee's will be a lot less.

SPAM is entertaining

When life gets you down, just turn to spam. It's the one form of entertainment that is supposed to be real, yet makes absolutely no sense. Now, as I understand it, spam is supposed to get you to buy something or whatever right? It doesn't exist just to exist, but serves some further underground purpose, right?

Assuming that, I must ask, why do people in what must be non-US countries continue to bombard me with spam that I cannot read. It's using English words - for sure - or at least some basis on roman characters and some germanic ancient language. But, what does it say?

All good things come to an end

And for me, that's my T-Mobile Side-Kick II. It was cool a few years ago, but has become big, clunky and limited in customization. The DangerOS, the thing that runs on the SideKick has a few customizations but most simply cost money. Games are cheaper than my new phone, but themes, ringtones, etc. must be bought (no usb support).

So, I present, my new phone. It's cool so far, tiny, and does all the stuff my sidekick did for .01 cent cheaper each month (for the service). I'm such a money saver! The Blackberry Pearl:

All bad things come in three's... right?

Yeah, so for those that care to read my blog, three "issues" ago, you'll know my laptop crapped out.

Today, my cell phone just decided power buttons aren't cool. So I cannot turn it on...the button doesn't work. So now i have a fully working phone without the ability to turn it on. And, you know, to get that fixed will cost more then "upgrading" my plan and getting a blackberry. Grr.

SideKick II by the way.

Ok, so now I await the third broken device which is to come. Please don't be my other 360... (since first is broken from my last string of 3's)

I HATE computers

I walk into work, power up my laptop like I do everyday - blue screen of death. I reboot, get to the login screen - lock.

I reboot again, system does nothing. Fan comes on, power LED comes on... never boots into windows, hell, fucking thing doesn't even bring up the BIOS screen. Just dead.

How can I power off a system like I do every single night and half it come back completely useless? Baffles the mind...

Credit Card Fraud: They ruin it for everyone

A bit about credit card fraud... no, our website has not gone live yet, and we've got a few credit card fraud prevention techniques. However, it still impacts us in many major ways without being the target of the fraud.

Why is our e-commerce site still holding out? Why aren't we live? Well, the site isn't 100% done yet, but that's not the show stopper. It is buying products! That should be easy right?

No sir, it's not that easy.

Case 1: Buying 10 xbox 360's (with PGR3 included)

You know what sucks about working the weekend?

Everything.

Our current work policy is that we have to work every few weekends because a few people in the company have some hard tasks to do. So, rather then having them have to deal with the work (and the families yelling) we all do. Equal Opportunity employer? I guess.

Luckily Sgreth and Dsmooth are here to waste time with me. I for one, walked by Sgerth's cube as he's spec'ing his WoW toon.

So, I'm here. Sitting at work. But I'm not doing any.
