GOT PRESSURE?

Yes. Yes I do. I think I've invested roughly 180 hours in web design in the last few weeks (or longer, it seems like forever). I contribute the amount of time I've spent on my wifes e-commerce site on my inability to cut corners.

Luke, or known on the site as BrokenDesign, and I have been up late nights being extremly pickey about the entire site. We may spend ten to twenty minutes shuffling pixels around to make sure everything lines up, has correct color, fits the theme of the site and is clear/intuative for users.

2o2p Magazine - Schedule Changeup

For those that already know, I'm working this e-commerce site for my wife, so that we can make money and she can "work from home." Well, that has a great impact on my free time :-)

So, for now, or maybe until I have way too much free time, I'm going to set the 2o2p Magazine schedule to release an issue every other month starting next month (this one will be out this month once I get the final edits).

e-commerce...who knew...?

For those that don't know, I took a few days off from work to ramp up my wifes e-commerce website. Fifteen hours of PHP it seems, lots of coding going on.

Building a single web view, for instance, the checkout screen, can take hours. Advanced search screen? Probably five hours of perfecting before I got it right. It has to work on all browsers (yes, even those silly mac ones like Safari) and it has to be functional. What a pain in the ass.

Derf, congradulations - you've been slash dotted

"Why Do We Prefer Sequeles" made it on slashdot.org's games section - congradulations. First thing you do, DO NOT READ THEIR COMMENTS. :)

I don't bother, but I know there must be at least 100 flame trolls on that page. Just be glad you got accepted by the /. crew, that is all that matters.

PS: And congradulations to TANK and his GoW write-up which is a big hit on digg right now. Your effort to go to the preview was worthwhile.

Yes, the magazine is going to be late again

And it probably will be next month as well. Hopefully, as I finish up the e-commerce video game site for my wife life will get a bit easier and I'll have more time to dedicate to the magazine releases. Right now, I'm falling behind, have trouble responding quickly to e-mails and all that.

Such is life, but eventually things will get less stressful. It will be out sometime this month, for sure, but I just don't know the exact date at this time. Bare with me - it's a side project :-)

Little NH lanfest, not so bad...

So a few buddies of mine (actually, a couple from this site as well, since we got them on here) had a lanfest about 2 minutes from my house. Although I only was able to drop by for five hours or so I did get to partake in a game I've not played before: SWAT4. Pretty neat game.

Yes, my buddies are PC gamers - probably only one xbox between the 11 folks (other then me). No 360's but me, and I don't own an original xbox either. So, needless to say, lots of PC's and monitors.

And so it begins...

My wife's last day of work was yesterday (Friday) and now we begin our adventures into entra..per..nurial..ship? She's now working at home for herself. Yeah.

All we need is stuff to sell now, oh yeah, and for me to finish the damn website. Well, progress is being made, just have to work harder to get more done faster. FASTER! *whip*

Wohoo, my dead xbox 360 arrived!

Yep, I bought a 360 with the red ring of lights on eBay for 31.00! Score! :)

Well, really, its so I can steal that nic card and make my living xbox 360 networkable again (and can actually game online someday).

Why are kids so destructive?

Yeah, so... my daughter cannot seem to watch Finding Nemo without finding a way to destroy stuff. She's three years old, and she seems to take pride in making my personal belongings tattered, shredded and filled with what I can only describe as grafitti.
