     "Late again," the third-grade teacher said to little Jeffey. "It ain't my fault," Miss Crabtree. "You can blame this on my Daddy. The reason I'm three hours late is Daddy sleeps naked!" Now Miss Crabtree had taught grammar school for thirty-some-odd years. So she asked little Jeffrey what he meant by that, despite her mounting fears.

Like I mentioned in my last entry, I had the house to myself Friday night and Saturday morning.  I had planned a late night of gaming.  I rush home Friday and what do I discover?  My internet isn't working.  I have troubles every now and then.  I went to unplug the modem to reset it.  This usually fixes everything.  No luck.  I try this several different times each time allowing it to be unplugged for longer and longer.  I finally break down and call.  For fifteen minutes the guy on the line tries different things.  At twenty minutes on the line, he asks for my zip code again.  Then he tells m

My wife informed me that she is going to not be home until late tonight.  She told me this like she was afraid that I was going to be mad.   She said that they were going to induce her cousin sometime today and my wife wanted to go and spend time with her family.  Being the supportive husband that I am I told her that she should go.  I would be fine.  I would find something to do.   The best part of this is my kids are also spending the night with her parents.  My wife is working on her doctorate so she has school all day tomorrow.  So basically I have the house to myself from the time I get h

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a bad tooth.  Bad tooth equals great pain.  Now normally I have a pretty high tolerance for pain.  Most things don't bother me.  this tooth does.  I am not one that likes to take pills.  I take a pill for my gout and blood pressure pills.  I don't like it but I have to.  I am working on my blood pressure with diet and exercise and my goal is to get healthy and not need these pills but back to my tooth.  It got to bothering me yesterday and I bummed some Tylenol from one of my softball players.  It took the edge off the pain but it was throbbing all night.  I qu

Okay.  I am a big chicken.  I hate dentists.  Always have and probably always will.  Senior year in college, 1989, was the last time I really went to the dentist on a regular basis.  After that, I quit going.  Parents weren't footing the bill anymore and nothing was hurting so I really didn't see a need to go.  Fast forward until December 2005.  I break a corner off one of my molars.  I break down and go.  I have to find  a new dentist because it turns out after 16 years my old dentist retired.  I find a new dentist and he fixes it and it wasn't all that bad.  He asks me when the last time I h
