My Tooth Hurts

Okay.  I am a big chicken.  I hate dentists.  Always have and probably always will.  Senior year in college, 1989, was the last time I really went to the dentist on a regular basis.  After that, I quit going.  Parents weren't footing the bill anymore and nothing was hurting so I really didn't see a need to go.  Fast forward until December 2005.  I break a corner off one of my molars.  I break down and go.  I have to find  a new dentist because it turns out after 16 years my old dentist retired.  I find a new dentist and he fixes it and it wasn't all that bad.  He asks me when the last time I h

Back To The Grind

Spring break is officially over.  My week of freedom from my students is over.  Wasn't a bad week at all.  Spent five days at the beach visiting my parents.  My little boys had a ball.  We road our bikes everywhere.  I turned 40 and the world didn't end.  Played Gears all weekend and didn't completely suck at it.  My buddy Diggler 25 and I finally finished up the campaign mode last night on insane.  All and all it has been a good break.

The Beach

The family and I decided to visit the parental units at the beach.  This seems to be our only form of vacation anymore.  I am too cheap to go on a real vacation.  Both my wife and I are teachers so we get to visit my parents quite often.  It has almost got to the point that I really don't like the beach anymore.  Anyways, My computers at home are still down.  I just never realized how much I needed them in my life.  It is sad.  I keep sneaking in my dad's bedroom to check out the sight here.  I need my fix.  We will also see how my time without the 360 goes.  Since I bought it, I have not miss

Bikes

Went Saturday to look at bikes with the wife.  She has been on me to get bikes so that we can ride with the kids.  We dropped the kids off at her parents house and we went to a bike shop in a nearby town.  They had a bike to fit my wife but the one I wanted they didn't have in my size.  Had to wait about 30 minutes while they put one together.  We walked them behind the shop for a test ride.  I haven't been on a bike in about 17 years and it has been at least that long for my wife.  I was like a little kid again.  I was riding around the parking lot giggling while I popped wheelies.  Boy did t

Bumper Stickers

I wouldn't be caught dead with a necrophiliac.

Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off now.

I won't rise to the occasion, but I'll slide over to it.

Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be happy.

Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Where there's a will, I want to be in it.

Okay, who put a "stop payment" on my reality check?

Few women admit their age. Few men act theirs.

The Pledge of Allegiance

Dangit.  At my school every morning, we say the Pledge of Allegiance.  I have Juniors and Seniors in my first period class.  Every day, I have 3 or 4 that start to sit down before the pledge is over.  Well they caught me in the wrong mood today.  I snapped.  They are now in the computer lab writing a 5 page paper on the Pledge of Allegiance.  I am sorry but is it asking too much to stand for the entire 10 seconds it takes to say it?
