Pride of a Father

On days like these

I realize

Another year gone

The time does fly.

I also know

A difficult nod

They are not mine

On loan from God.

But, as long as He allows

I will enjoy

The love the laughter

My girl and boys.

You watch them play

They read and learn

Grow up and go

To take their turn.

I come back to now

Where my hope resides

And wrap myself in
This father’s pride.

Happy Birthday Megan

Daddy loves you very much.

Great weekend

So, we celebrated Megan's 2nd birthday over the weekend. She turns 2 on Thursday, so we did it a bit early. It was an awesome time of celebration, fun and not really focusing on any of the bad things going on in her life. We had about 70 people show up, not all at the same time but throughout the day, and we are blessed to report that we raised over $1400 for the UMDF, in Megan's honor. In case you might be wondering, we chose to go with UMDF donations over gifts, for the simple reason that everyone has given so much to us, that we didn't feel right wanting gifts.

Like a thief

Like a thief in the night
He shall arrive
To gathers His own
In the "twinkling of an eye"(1 Corinthians 15:52)

As a fierce wind from the west
Or a storm from the east
His hand will be swift
Not sparing the least

The dead will rise first (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
The rest will come after
No more will they smile
There will be no more laughter

In line with Soup's blog...

I give you my bucket list, in no particular order:

*Visit Israel, and walk where Jesus did. Visit the various places where Jesus taught, healed and the place where Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead.

*Visit the hallowed grounds at Normandy. See where it all happened, and "feel" the memories of those who came before me, and sacrificed it all. If I were allowed, and I know I wouldn't be, to walk along that beach.....the Ghosts of Normandy.

*Skydive. I, too, have an affinity to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

Slow Fade

It starts with a peek...

It starts with a drink...

It starts with a word...

It starts out slow, but, by the time you realize anything you have lost everything.

Life's directions

This is directed to those whom I've read about, talked to or anyone else who wants to read. The Bible can answer all of life's questions. I'm not a Bible scholar, but I know the answers are there.

Humility: As far as this goes, humbling yourself before others is one of the greatest things you can you, and shows you to be Christ-like

Luke 22:26

26 "But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves."
