Liberty City Is Open For Business

The fanatic midnight release of GTA IV has come and gone and by now most people that wanted to pick up the game have done so.  For the record I wasn't one of the people that attended the midnight release.  Don't get my wrong though....my inner game nerd was screaming at me to be there.  Having to work the next day and the fact that I would have most likely played the entire night through to the morning held me back from attending.  As a result, I picked it up the next day when stores opened.  That made my day at work on Tuesday extremely tough.  Sitting at my desk with a copy of GTA IV star

One Week Until GTA IV

We are one week away (less if you count midnight launches) from the release of what looks to be the biggest game of 2008.  For those that have just thawed out of your cryogenic sleep I'm talking about GTA IV.  Make no mistake.  This game will be HUGE.  It will be huge in terms of both sales and gameplay.  The number of presale copies of GTA IV is already proving to be quite large.  While GTA IV uses an old city (Liberty City) that appeared in past GTA incarnations, it has taken on some serious renovations.  The size of Liberty city  is relatively smaller compared to San Andreas but the buzz

Finally Finished Condemned

Looking back at the $20 I paid for Condemned: Criminal Origins, I can say that I am an extremely satisfied customer.  Even though the title is an xbox 360 original release, the gameplay and graphics are still fresh.  This is combined with a good story and the ability to put you in extremely uncomfortable situations.  This all comes together for a quite unique gaming experience.  Did I mention the game is scary?  It isn't the enemies in this game that are scary (even though some of them have a hanibal Lecter meets Ninja Gaiden thing going on) but the environment that terrifies.  Condemned do

Quiet Before The Storm

Things seem quiet on the gaming front right now.  Maybe it is just me but there doesn't seem to be any big news or releases taking place.  You can sense that is all about to change.  That thing you sense is GTAIV being released at the end of the month.  This game is going to be absolutely HUGE in every way possible.  Financially it stands to challenge some of the record numbers put up by the Halo 3 launch.  Halo 3 set revenue records for an entertainment release during it's first week of release.  In terms of game play, the inclusion of MP adds a lot of quality game content to an already beefy

Best Buy and The PS3.......It Won't End

On Saturday after I successfully exchanged my PS3, I got home and I noticed something interesting in the Best Buy flyer. It turns out when you buy a 40GB PS3, you get two free games (Splinter Cell Double Agent and All Pro Football 2008 ). Nobody explained that to me in the store so there I was at home with my new 40GB PS3 and no free games to show for it. I called Best Buy and they said all I had to do was bring in the receipt and the games would be mine. Off I went tonight to Best Buy once again and successfully picked up the free games.
