Juggling some games

Been hitting DCUO at a pretty decent clip.  I'm trying not to rush through it, since the level cap is 30, and I don't want to burn myself out on it.  I'm up to 16 or 17 now.  Still enjoying it.  I've been mostly going solo, but feel that it's coming time to start grouping more.  I still haven't played any of the pvp stuff.  I'd like to, but I'm kind of intimidated by it, and don't particularly enjoy competitive multiplayer.

A few gaming impressions

I got tired of waiting on UPS and finally just carted my ass over to Best Buy to pick up DCUO for the PS3 on Friday.  So far, it's pretty good, but doesn't really feel like an MMO to me.  Maybe it's the lack of crafting, I don't know.  I'm currently on level 12, been having a fairly enjoyable time.  Just not sure if it's $15/month worth of adventure.  I have quite the same gripes with this as with most any MMO.  Some sections are too cluttered with players that waiting for enemies to spawn or to get a drop becomes a hassle.  In the beginning, too many people are spamming requests for groupi

Day 3 of being snowed in

Today, it was kind of a period of Glasnost in the cul de sac. The neighbors banded together to clear the road of most of the ice on our fair little section of the street. Shovels were lent, rock salt was poured on driving areas that were not my own. Kitty litter was offered to sprinkle the ground, so that none of us would suffer a nasty spill. It was like a 60's protest song, or at least how I envision one to be, all we were missing was some free love and babies walking around sans diaper.

Loughner's a gamer?!!

I was utterly crushed upon learning that Randy Loughner (the alleged Arizona shooter) was a video gamer! Surely, this is proof that murder simulators like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Bomberman (an obvious terrorist simulation) need to be highly restricted and sold under brown paper bags, if not outright banned.

I will lose all control if it's later revealed that he watched tv, read books, had an iTunes account or went to the movies or once saw Cats on a field trip with his class. We would need to declare an all out war on literacy, or put Rum Tum Tugger to sleep.

Snowed In

I never really understood the concept of being 'snowed in'.  Growing up in Massachusetts, I figured it was akin to living in a cabin in the remote parts of Alaska, where it snows 10 feet at a time.  You just hunker down near your kettle of stew and ride out the winter.  However, after the snowstorm across the southeast, I've now been snowed in for 2 days, and a third is all but certain at this point.  I live on the bottom of a hill in a cul de sac.  The hill is complete ice.  I've seen a couple four wheel drive vehicles get up the hill, but all other normal passenger cars haven't.  There ha

WoW Account HAXX0rZd

Yesterday, I was talking to a coworker during a smoke break about the Worgens.  Decided to pull up WoW Armory on my iPhone to show him the mage I've been messing around with.  Invalid username/password.  Odd, I thought.  Try, try again, fail fail.  I get back to my desk, start looking into things.  Seems they had sent me an email 40 minutes earlier stating that my account had been suspended for gold selling.  I go through the account recovery process, and all is good.  I'm now using their free iPhone authenticator app to guard against this happening again.  A minor pain, but it could have b
