Blood Stone, TDU2 and AAA Backlog

This weekend, Best Buy had 007 Blood Stone on sale for $24.99.  I've been somewhat interested in the game, but not $60 interested, so I bit on the deal.  The game is okay.  It took me about 8 hours to finish it, but I could go back to farm some additional gamerscore.  The on-foot missions were generally good, but the driving segments were awful.

Castlevania: LoS Done

Finally,

25 hours or so gameplay to finish the game.  Estimated.

30/30 life gems collected

30/30 shadow gems collected

30/30 light gems collected

All artwork purchased

440 achievement points.  What a drag.  Granted, I played the easiest difficulty, but still, it was a significant time investment.  I suppose I could start going for trials, but I really don't want the frustration of trying to beat the Ice Titan in 1.5 minutes.

Busy weekend

Had a fairly decent weekend.  It started on Friday night, where I decided to play some Castlevania.  It's taking me quite a long time to get through this game, but I am enjoying it.  I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again - the demo should not have been of the first 2 sections of the game.  This game is excellent if you're into God of War, Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry and Bayonetta type games.  I got up to chapter 11, part 2, which is a fight against a bitchin' boss.  As such, I decided not to fight him yet, and instead, go through and collect the life, light and

Going to Comic-Con

After much grief from TicketLeap not being up to the task of handling ticket ordering for Comic-Con, I was able to get through and get my passes.  Unfortunately, a glitch the much maligned TicketLeap prevented me from getting a 4 day pass, so I had to settle for 4 1-day passes.  A minor bummer, but the important part is that I got the tickets.  At least I think I did - I got confirmation numbers and my card was charged.  I have so little confidence in TicketLeap though, I won't be fully pacified until I get my barcodes (which should go out tomorrow).  I know there's a huge "stick it to the

Almost pulled the trigger on 3DTV

I've been eyeing this 3D set at Best Buy - a 63" Samsung Plasma.  I've been vehemently opposed to plasma for some time.  My impressions have been largely "it's never going to look as good as the day you first set it up" and that it doesn't last very long.  Well, since finding that set, I've done some research and it seems that my views may have been outdated.  Yes, it will dull over time, as will LCD and LED.  It is succeptible to burn in, but there are steps that can be taken to minimize risk.  This particular model seems to get consistently good reviews.  I was ready to bite the bullet an

Juggling some games

Been hitting DCUO at a pretty decent clip.  I'm trying not to rush through it, since the level cap is 30, and I don't want to burn myself out on it.  I'm up to 16 or 17 now.  Still enjoying it.  I've been mostly going solo, but feel that it's coming time to start grouping more.  I still haven't played any of the pvp stuff.  I'd like to, but I'm kind of intimidated by it, and don't particularly enjoy competitive multiplayer.
