Best Buy Scam

Over the last 12 months I’ve purchased a surround sound receiver, an Xbox 360, a front loading washer, a 60” Sony television and various other smaller purchases at my local Best Buy store. I’ve always liked Best Buy. They have a very reasonable selection and the sales people (in my area at least) are moderately helpful without being a nuisance.

Styker's Spring LAN

While the site was down last weekend a few of the fine folks at Old Man Mafia got together for a LAN in beautiful Indianapolis, IN. 3-4 times a year Stryker927 will open his home to a bunch of smart a$$ guys to come take over his domain for a weekend of shenanigans. For a time only local guys would get together for a little Halo2 on Friday night. Now with the growth of 2old2play.com and the Old Man Mafia, along with the development of friendships and bonds that go with that, we have folks from all over joining us for a weekend long event.

Big0ne on your radio dial!

So today I was listening to Maxim Radio on my Sirius and they were doing a regular show called Level Up Radio. The topic today was "Getting your girl to play video games" so I decided to call in and tell them about how my beautiful wife started gaming.

On the air with the host was Major Nelson and Psyche from Frag Dolls. I was expecting to have to wait for an hour to get through but the screener took my name and location right away. The good thing about satellite radio is that no one cares if your calling just to curse on the air so there's not much screening to do.

Whose thread is this anyway?

The thread jack – Since the first internet forum was started the thread jack has been a part of the posting experience. Usually it’s an innocent turn from one subject to the next. After all, anyone whose ever played a word association game knows how easily one word or phrase can remind you of something totally different then the person next to you. A forum like 2o2p sees a substantially higher rate of this than other forums but that is to be expected I suppose.

RB6:V vs. GRAW2

Let me start by saying that until 3 weeks ago I had never really played any of the Tom Clancy games. I never really liked the idea of having to keep track of and give orders to AI "team mates". I do well just to keep track of what I’m supposed to be doing much less baby-sit a bunch of mindless AI compadres.

Cover Me.

According to Wiki-pedia Paul McCartney's "Yesterday" is the most covered song of all time. Why bring this up you ask? Well because I really like cover songs. Not the kind of karaoke that’s done on American Idol, but professionals who cover great songs and in some cases take mediocre songs and make them great. I recently stumbled across an album while searching for songs for my Zune (a great device btw). It was called “This Is Metal's Most Covered Moments Of The '80s” Perfect! I thought. Here’s and album that combines two types of music I really enjoy. I was only partially right.
