I did it!

It is done.  Well, almost.  I haven't signed a contract yet, but they have my $500 deposit.  The NE LAN in April is actually gonna happen.  I spoke with the sales rep this morning.  I tried to get a deal on the meeting room if we used catering service, but she said we would have to eat in the room with our consoles and stuff, so I let that go.  Mustn't spill on the xboxes!  But, we can use an extra room for a buffet meal, and it is per person.  It would be nice to have a meal with all of us.  We'll see about that.  We gotta eat, right?  And breakfast is included in the room rate, prolly minima

Thanksgiving is Thursday.  Ya, I know y'all know that.  We rarely have dinner on Thanksgiving due to work schedules,.

NE LAN on my mind

Boy am I glad I decided not to work full time!  I did 4 days this week and it was just stress city!  And, physically demanding, as well.  Agh!  I will stick to per diem 3 days a week or whatever.  Next week only ONE!  Yay!

My day at work

I worked hard today.  I'm tired and a little wound up.  Well, I have the right....  When I am slinging chemo, I am actually giving people stuff that can kill them, sometimes.  Most of it just makes them sick, but I give them meds so they don't throw up and stuff.  You don't want to know about the "stuff".  Well, today I saved someone's life.  Ha!  SuperNurse!  I was giving this guy Rituximab.  Can be pretty mean stuff.  There was no documentation that he had a reaction the first time he got it.  The doc didn't say anything except that he ordered extra meds.  D'oh.  Should have been a huge ligh

More Monday

I have been doing my research until I'm blue in the face.  A friend suggested Manchester, NH for our NE LAN.  Thanks buddy!  WooHoo!  I found a great place!  The price is right.  It's close to an airport.  And they will let us bring in our own food and stuff.  Yeh, we can have a keg!  The person I spoke with told me not to go back to the internet service cuz they charge a commission to the hotel.  If I dealt with her directly, the rooms were $89.00/night.  Dealing with the service, they were $119.00/night.  I didn't even ask how much difference there was in the meeting room price!

Monday, Monday...

Here it is Monday again!  I never work Mondays.  I like my long weekend, and I have that choice.  Most people like Fridays for a long weekend.  I guess......but I have always preferred Monday.  Go figure!  The full-time thing isn't gonna happen.  Well, it could, if I was willing to do 5 days.  NOT!!  One of the nurses "misunderstood" that I was offered 4 days/week.  The reality was that I said I would do it if I could work 4 days/week, which, thanks to her, I cannot.  She started a heated discussion about who has worked there longe
