I miss Gradeschool

What the heck is this thing we call life, anyway? I mean, I'm here at work and I realize that time just shoots on by broken up by the occassional vacation and Stars Games. I miss gradeschool.

I'm a Social NONsmoker

I’ve been trying to quit not smoking.

It’s much harder than I thought, though. I‘ve worked on breaking it down into tasks which really is just a fancy word for obstacles standing in my way of a successful smoking life. Essentially, my main issues are: cost, taste, social stigma, and desire. But, with a good plan and dedication, I can start smoking soon and make it stick.

Pet Peeve

So, I'm on the phone with someone the other day and at the end of the conversation, he's like "Say "Hi" to your wife for me".  I say "OK", but I don't mean it.

Maybe my

OK, so on Thursday my XBox 360 locked up hard - suddenly, I had big white dotted lines across my screen. I turned it off, turned it back on - same problem. Took it all apart (removed all the cables, removed the HDD, removed the disc, etc) and put it back together - same issue. Waited forever with it off, then tried it all again - same dealio. So, I'm thinking it's toast - I had some minor lockup issues before, so I wasn't completely shocked.

Healthy Choice

I went to Tom Thumb yesterday at lunch and they had a remarkable sale on Healthy Choice frozen dinners (hey, don't knock it - I'm down to 175 pounds - I was 190 a few months ago and 215 a couple years ago):  10 for $20 (basically, $2 each).  Then, there is one of those machines glued to the door that spits out coupons at you for another $1.00 off any four.  On top of that, a new Healthy Choice promotion was posted that if you spend $20 on their product, you'll get a $10 gift card from Tom Thumb.

Vacation Photos with Newspapers

I think it's strange that whenever someone's kidnapped, at least in the movies, the photo always has a newspaper in it.  Where do you learn that?  I mean, as a kid, we never took family photos holding a newspaper.  And, if we had, it wouldn't have been the front page - it probably would've been the "Today" section of the Dallas Morning News.  That section doesn't exist anymore, but back then it had the comics and movie listings and stuff.

Oh, crap

Bowel Movement. I'm sure you've heard this phrase before, and I'm sure you know what it means. The other day, though, it suddenly struck me what an odd "label" that is to use instead of the "other words" most often bantered about. It's such a descriptive phrase - it explains what part of your body is most significantly involved and what action it is taking.

G String

I broke a guitar string (the "G" string) playing it too loudly. Had to replace it and while I was stringing, I realized I didn't have a winder. Then, I realized how people in 3rd world countries can't even get a reliable food source and here I am worrying about the laziness of not wanting to wind up a guitar string. So, I bought winders for a few people in Africa. Not sure what address to send them to, though.

OMM rocks - playful critters

Besides my comedy skills getting slammed by BigPunisher'sWife (lol), I've lost the "priveledge" to post in OMM forums. I'm pretty sure that it's a joke, but then again - they may be jealous of my bow-staff and posting skillz. I even sometimes use more than one color in my posts. It's wicked wild.

So, I may have to post all of my OMM related items in my blog until further notice:

Greetings

Ever thought about how random the word "hi" is? We (humans) seem to like some type of greeting, but the word itself has no deep meaning. It's really just a random couple of letter shoved together - and, they aren't even letters that never see each other: they are right next to each other in the alphabet!

Next time you see someone, instead of saying "hi" just express in a happy voice a random word. Like, "taco". Report back your results...
