Hm. I woke up to see 6" of snow. I don't recall being transferred to CT overnight! It's so bizarre- 4 days of no school. Cabin fever is setting in. I went out to my mailbox yesterday. That's it. Today I may actually NEED to go to the grocery store, so I think I'll be experiencing our fine public transportation system. Dang! Wish I'd gotten my CDL. Well, I live in a decent part of town so hopefully it will be OK.

So Texas almost never has these apocalyptic snow storms (ok ice storms) that we've experienced this week. I've been home for two days, no school, and tomorrow has been cancelled as well! Trust me, I'm not complaining, but I'm getting a little tired of not having the ability to hop in my car and see my BF, hang out with friends, shop for groceries, etc.

My wonderful super fantastic amazing (will stop here with the adjectives) boyfriend took my phone to someone to have the glass replaced while I was at symphony rehearsal last night! <3 <3 <3 <3

He is soooo my hero!

Been playing DeathSpank TOV and it's KILLING me! Love it anyway, but damn I keep dying. I must be doing stuff out of order.

BL: Crawmerax is still impossible. Underdome is staggeringly long. Finished everything else. I think it's time to visit Red Dead for some Zombie action! Anyone like that DLC? Any helpful hints?

In an ongoing debate between me, my brother and his wife, I was finally proved wrong about the regional name choice of a carbonated beverage.

My sister in law calls it soda, but we told her that only people from up north call it that (and thusly entirely discounted her opinion). I call it Coke. A waiter may ask me "What kind of Coke you want?" and I might reply Dr. Pepper. (This is Texas-- everything is called Coke.)

My brother cleverly ended this argument by saying, "When you open a can of coke, it says 'sssssss Pop!' It doesn't say 'sssssss Coke!"

He wins.

Dammit, I broke my damn iPhone again! I dropped it facedown on the pavement right after my symphony concert tonight. Shit!!!

So I went to an AT&T store to replace it with an iPhone 4. My wonderful BF bought his for $200. I expected about the same. Nope... mine was priced at $499.! (WTF??) Double shit. So instead of laying out money I don't have, I bought a clear film screen protector to hold all the damn glass in. Until I have a spare $500, I'm playing on a broken screen, but at least I won't have glass shards in my face.

It's been so crazy busy already. School is of course back in swing and I'm gearing up for contest season. It won't be as phenomenal as last year, but they're starting to come along so I have high hopes at least. I'd rather have assurance. Symphony season is up and running, and we open this year with our Children's Concert on Jan. 29. We're playing one of my all time favorite orchestra pieces Hopak from The Fair at Soroschinsk by Mussorgsky. I was asked to write the program notes for this, so that was exciting.
