Bummin'

I purchased a Panasonic projector back in late February and let me tell you, playing games and watching movies on a 120" screen is the cat's ass.  The problem is that the image began to periodically dim and then brighten and I noticed a color convergence issue.  So, I sent it in for repair back in June.

Wanna want to lose weight?

I don't think it's a secret that to lose weight, you have to work out and/or eat better.  The problem can be finding the motivation.  I've been running in the mornings the past 3 weeks and have dropped 10 lbs.  I was feeling pretty good about that too.  Then this weekend while out in the yard playing with my kids, my wife took a digital picture of me with my shirt off.  Looking at the picture, I realized that I still have at least 20 lbs to go.

Another deal on XBLM Points

If you're anxious for Live Marketplace points today, see my blog below.

But if you can wait until Sunday, Circuit City will be having a "buy one, get one of lesser or equal value" sale on all video game accessories.  I have been told that the term "accessories" will extend to Marketplace points cards.  So for $20, you can get 3200 XBLM points.

Great deal on XBLM points

If you pre-order Halo 3 at Best Buy for $5, you can get a 1600 point marketplace card for $4.99. They don't publish this in-store, but you can print out the page off their web-site and they'll match it at the service counter.

If you already have H3 pre-ordered or don't want H3, you can just think of it as spending $10 and getting a green game case and a 1600 point card for $10 (which is still half price). I'm thinking of doing the deal again, just to snag some more points "on the cheap".

Fun at the health food store

Now that I'm getting a bit of religion again about my training and diet, I'm finding that I periodically need to make trips to the health food / organic grocery store.  The one by where I live seems to employ only militant vegetarian enviromentalist hippies.  Not that I have a problem with their lifestyle choice, because I don't.  But don't give me the hairy eyeball and a condescending sigh just because I didn't bring my own bio-degradeable bag for my groceries.  It's not like I just clubbed a baby seal.  And if I did, I'd at least be environmentally conscious enough about it that I'd make

Really slow PC boot-up

Lately, it is taking forever for my PC to boot-up.  On the Windows XP loading screen, it takes about a minute and a half.  From the time my desktop appears until it is fully up and ready to use, another minute or two has passed.  I've cleaned up my hard drive and defragged it and I've eliminated the junk from my start-up.  I've run Ad-Aware to clear out any spyware.  I've cleaned the registry.    One of my next steps will be to using some sort of start-up manager to see what is loading and when and which things might be resource hogs.  But it seems to me that the problem is occuring before
