Get your geek on

It's lunchtime and I can't sleep. I hate this. I fell instantly asleep when my head hit the pillow this morning at 9. Three hours later and !BAM! wide awake. Maybe I'll watch a movie...finished the new Stephen King novel. Picked up the extended version of the new King Kong and V for Vendetta. My brain isn't quite functioning properly right now either...this is the 3rd attempt at entering this...accidentally deleted it twice already.

Brokeback dreams and mashups

This was not the best weekend by far. Kids+work+sleep= no GoW for me. Oh well, life goes on. It's early Mon. evening now, this morning's migraine is gone and I can smell the coffee brewing (love coffee).

While waiting for said coffee, I was checking out the latest news in movieland and came across this bit of goodness that should make all the pervs...umm...I mean gentlemen of the site happy:

Saying farewell to a bad guy

So I finally managed to hunt down a copy of GoW last night. Even managed to find a collector's edition. Finished Act 1 on hardcore this morning. Man, the controls take a lot of getting used to.

On the movie front, we sadly say goodbye to one of Hollywood's best known bad guys....

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jack Palance, the craggy-faced menace in "Shane," "Sudden Fear" and other films who turned successfully to comedy at 70 with his Oscar-winning self-parody in "City Slickers," died Friday. He was 87.

Punny news and Toy Story Requiem

Well, still no GoW(waaaaahhh). Will try in Ottawa tonight when I pick up the kids(please, please, please). On the movie front, I found this tidbit that brightened my day:

Sex, drugs and elephants. Yes, elephants!

So, I haven't managed to grab a copy of GoW yet (living in a small town can have its disadvantages). Just means putting more time into Oblivion. No big thing. Checking out the latest movie news I came across a trailer for an animated flick that the title of today's entry eludes to. This is hilarious little gem from Norway. Release date for North America is still up in the air thanks to bit of a dispute with the distributor.

Who is the Warrior?

Let us carry on  with the getting to know me segment of our show, shall we. The previous blog entries dealt with the somewhat stress-filled births of my children. Today I have dug up from the vaults some slightly old and faded photos of the warrior. Memories of yesteryear when hair was more abundant and the bags under my eyes had yet to make an appearance.

Grade 5, 10yrs of age. The golden age of carefree living. Nothing to do but fish, swim and bike all summer long. When girls were those irritating creatures who hung around where they didn't belong.

Childbirth Part Deux

Yesterday's entry detailed the trials and tribulations of my sons birth. Today, Michelle.

The Adventures of Childbirth

So once again it's early morning and  the apartment is quiet , giving my brain plenty of time and  space to ponder. Reading Gazzara's post of the birth of his son, I flashed back to when my kids were due to arrive in this world. Let it be known that my children are not ones to do anything the easy way.

Commercials: Entertainment or Annoyance?

So it's early morning, I'm bored as hell and the kids are asleep. Got my Oblivion fix last night and (you didn't really here this, you're still dreaming) I don't feel like turning on the 360. So I start checking some of my bookmarked sites and start watching commercials. Yes, I was willingly watching the bane of  TV viewers everywhere. These are hilarious. The last should appeal to the guys here, best of both worlds.

Attention all Star Wars geeks!!!

Now that I have about 95% of the sites attention, here's a little treat I came across while checking out some movie blogs. This is a non-profit, fan produced short feature that will be split into two 40 min.(approx) chapters with the first scheduled to be aired at the end of 2006 and will be free to download(yes, free). It takes place a few centuries after Ep. VI.  Nobody, and I mean nobody, got paid anything. Not crew, producers or actors. Here's a link to the website. http://www.darkresurrection.com/index.html .
