So I check my mail yesterday and lo and behold, there's something from Microsoft. Yes! I say to myself. It's the 3 month LIVE extension and my free 1250 points for the marketplace. There was a mail-in for these with my 360 bundle(plus PGR3). Now I don't have to renew until the end of Feb. Now to figure out what to spend the points on. Decisions, decisions.

So it's Halloween and I've been treating myself to all kinds of scary flicks for a few days now. It's been a slice. But my son isn't so happy. He wanted to go shopping on the weekend for hair dye so he could dye(temporarily) his hair black for Halloween. So I ask him what costume he's getting that he needs to dye his hair. He wants to dress as an emo kid to make fun of all the emos at his school. Umm, why not just get a wig? Looks too fake. Check all the hair colouring and spray-ons.

Today I actually slept a straight 8 hrs. Now this may not seem a big deal to anyone but myself. You see I work nights. Have been for almost 15 yrs now. The last few years I haven't been able to manage a good nights(days) sleep no way, no how. I have no problems falling asleep. Once my head hits the pillow, I'm out within a couple of minutes. Now staying asleep, that's a different matter all together. 5,4 and even 3 hrs later I'll be wide awake again. I've tried going to the bathroom, reading for awhile, everything short of heavy sedation, but nothing seems to work.

With the approach of Halloween, I have been posting trailers from movies that thrilled and chilled me when I was a kid. They have been your traditional giant monster, deformed creature, mythical being, boogeyman type of flicks. Today I present a film that is a scarefest of a different sort. There are monsters and demons, just not the traditional ones. These are everyday folk like you and me. "Requiem for a Dream" is a movie that grabs you, pulls you in and won't let go. It'll disgust you, make you laugh, feel uncomfortable, and just make you go "wow".

I'm sitting here drinking my first cup of coffee, having just dragged my tired old ass out of bed, catching up on my emails and all the going ons here at 2o2p. Half my brain's still in bed I think cause there just doesn't seem to be any flow between it and my keyboard. Maybe I'm just getting old and the engine needs longer to warm up. Ya, that's it I'm sure...maybe. I pick my kids up in a couple of hours and then lose all control of the computer and 360. AFTER homework is done of course.

Another dreary day here,sigh. The weather has sucked since last Thursday night. At least it's not raining.

I saw this on The Movie Blog the other day and thought it was hilarious. My kids would be so heartbroken. J.K. Rowling plagiarizes Star Wars. What is the world coming to.

I guess you could say I was your stereotypical young boy. Ya know, always coming home with some lifeform in my pocket or container. Be it snake, frog or bug of some kind, my mother was usually yelling at me to get something out of the house. I think that was why I always had a fondness for the giant bug movies of the radioactive 50's.

Halloween is fast approaching and I must say that it is my favorite holiday of the bunch. Why? You don't get the day off and there's no big fancy all-the-family-together dinner. Yes, there are parties and trick or treating but these aren't the reasons. This is the time of year when every TV station airs a gizillion horror movies from good to bad and new to old. Now I know these days with DVDs and PPV you can watch just about any movie whenever you want, but Halloween brings me back to when I was a kid.

Then this is a movie to look for. It's title is "Special" and the trailer looks hilarious.
