Magic and other things

Magic the Gathering is still my fav game.  I love the game, and I hate the game!  Make sense?  We are doing clan leagues and I actually won the last one!  Yes, me!  And this month, truly mediocre.  Blah.  And, my man has been playing for a whole, um, 3 or 4 months?  He is holding his own in the current league.  Sure, He loses most of the games, but he plays hard and makes 'em sweat!  What a guy!

My Turn

Now that my man is on the mend, better than ever! It's my turn.  It is time for me to deal with this *%@^ hip that is killing me and the chest pain I have more and more frequently.  WTF?  Does it ever end?  And, the way insurance works these days, it takes numerous MD appointments to actually get to the specialist you want to see.  And then, there is follow up.  Another appointment.  And I anticipate tests.....

Update

We really feel all the thoughts and prayers worked cuz Gerry is now home with NO back brace and NO walker.  He still takes percocet for incisional pain, but the nerve pain and spasms are ALL GONE.  And his back is straight, again.  I told them something was wrong making his posture so crooked, and it indeed was.  They found it when they opened him up.

Thank you all so much for your support.  *hugs* to all.

Fixed

The man's surgery was yesterday.  First it was postponed from 7:30 to 11:00, then the first case ran over, then it was finally 1:00 and they took him away.  I waited, and waited, with no word at all for over 3 hours.  Finished my book.  Finally!  He's in recovery.  Doctor came out and told me it was a bit more extensive than he had originally thought (I sorta figured that would happen), but all went well and my man is now fixed.  By around 5:30 he was in his room and I could see him.  Oh, so sad to see him looking so vulnerable.  WTF?  He was not hooked up to a PCA (patient controlled analg

Monday

We have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am for a 23 hour "observation" admission for the man's back surgery.  Can you imagine?  Times have changed so much.  He has had all of his pre-op stuff done outpatient, including his "shower and scrub" which we do at home the night before.  The surgery is actually done with the intention that he will go home within 23 hours and not have to be admitted to the hospital.  It is considered outpatient surgery.  If he is admitted to the actual hospital, he is transferred sometime during the day.  Weird.

Time is flying by.  So much happening in July, and it starts today.  I have a day off!!!!  Yay!!!  But, I work the entire holiday weekend, Sat, Sun and Monday.  Blah.  Then it's very soon that the man will have his surgery.  He is doing so much better now that he is on a higher dose of pain med and muscle relaxer.  He feels like a druggy, tho.  Sorry, hon, but ya gotta to get thru this.

Countdown

My man's back surgery is July 11.  We are scared, of course.  But, we tried everything and went thru all the steps demanded by insurance, job, etc.  He started with his PCP, who did xrays and found some problems.  Prescribed some Naprosyn for an anti-inflammatory.  I truly believe doctors say it is inflammation when they have no idea what it really is.  That didn't help, so onward to MRI.  Ahhhh, he DOES have real problems that are not necessarily "inflammation".  Referred to an orthopedist.  Change in anti-inflammatory, including something akin to prednisone, without any good results.  He
