House Hunting

We went house hunting yesterday, realtor and all.  We have both decided that maintenance free and mobile is where we want to be.  Mobile, because it will only be a few years before we move to Florida, hopefully for good.  My grown up "big kid" wants to feel the luv of Disney World and other fatal attractions.  I'm glad it's not all about roller coasters, cuz I just CAN 'T do them.  I tried.  Motion sickness to the max.  Blah.  Oh, I was side-tracked.

Friends

My blogs over the past year or so have been all about me and my real life issues, good and bad.  But, in the past few weeks I have had old friends contact me again with news about what has gone on in their lives recently, and why they have been MIA.  Most of it is sad, some of it is good, but I am always glad to hear from all of you.  Luke, I am soooooo glad you are better and chatting with you the other day was good for my soul.  Dave, I miss you.  Pregnant again?  Sheesh, I am the last to know.  Jeff, be careful, you idiot!!!  Beth, I am so glad he has not deployed yet.  Michelle's boy ha

Joining the IV Team

It seems I have finally been offered a position that is not only using my IV skills, but paying me what I am worth.  Well, almost.  It is the first time in a while that I have had a raise in salary instead of a drop when changing jobs.  I will not be slinging chemo, and I will miss that.  But, I will be starting IVs all day long, day in and day out, and that is one of my best skills as a nurse.  I am not a one stick wonder, but close.  Patients used to ask for me sometimes, but then, they all seem to have their fav nurses.  The best thing to hear is "I didn't even feel that!"  Nice.  What e

Change is good?

I got the job offer.  The one in Norfolk, which means we now have a place to focus on.  The chances of getting back to NC right now have been eliminated.  Got that news via email from my old nurse manager.  Blah.  So, I start in Norfolk prolly 2 weeks from Monday.  ooooo, very bad timing.  That has not been written in stone anywhere, but that is Thanksgiving week, which, I would think, might cause problems for time off, orientation period, etc.  I started my last job in early November, and had to spend all of my PTO (borrowed it, actually) on holidays for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.  I wa

'Snot fair!

Y'all have been hearing about my plans and how they change from day to day.  That is my life now.  So, what now?  atm I have no plans at all.  That's right.  I have come down with a cold for the first time in many years (just lucky, and healthy, I guess) so I am being a baby and hunkering down.  It's actually not that bad, but I can play this for all it's worth!  Sure, I have things to do, but I have this great excuse.....ooooo, I'm sick.
