I am going to the Dallas WebComics Expo today (at Southfork Ranch in Plano, for anyone in the area)... one of my favorite webcomic strip writing team is going to be there- Cyanide & Happiness. I am so excited!! Now if only The Oatmeal was going to be there. So.... I'm trying to think up some good ideas so they can draw me a strip- they have done this at previous conventions and then ask the people who got a strip frawn to post it on the C & H facebook page so everyone can see them. Any good ideas, send them my way (if you're reading this before 3PM CST on Aug 6).

I may be jumping the gun a bit but I've just pre-ordered BioShock Infinite and Borderlands 2. OMG I'm practically lactating with anticipation of these two games!

So it's Matt's bday this Saturday and today is his day off, so we met early, watched Breaking Bad season 3, made chocolate cake balls (yum! And note: don't use white chocolate dipping sauce, use almond bark), then spent a lazy afternoon at the pool. Now for the best part...

I didn't think my cousin wanted me at her wedding when my sister, brother and parents all received invitations and I didn't. My mom thought to call my aunt and ask if I was invited or not (which I really wish she hadn't done) so of course about a week later my invitation arrived. My mom said my aunt had sent it to the wrong address (which is BS because the postal service forwards mail for a full year after you move, by request of course) and since it was probably lost they just would mail me a new one. (MMmmmmmhm.

Coolest Mom of a Teenager award goes to one of my piano students: she works for the company that puts on trade shows and the like, and happens to be working on the team that's doing Comic Con. Rather than just go about her business, she takes her kid (my former student) along to San Diego to actually experience Comic Con. This kid is over the moon about it (rightly so). Just had to give her a big high five for shelling out the extra $$ for the flight, scoring the kid a ticket, and be willing to bring him along to a work gig that she knows he'd get a kick out of.
